I've been told countless times that I could join Priveteer and the Alliance.
Yet every time I go to a Priveteer trainer, he tells me to shut up and go away...Whats the deal?

Unless you mean you're an Alliance pilot...in which case you can't join both.

What he said. You can't be two pilot professions. What you can do is be a rebel on the ground and a privateer in space. Or unfactioned on the ground and a rebel in space.

Probably mixing up the Alliance Pilot and the Smuggler's Alliance, which is a Privateer tree.

He was mistaken and participating in an exploit. Its a known bug to have skills from each. You can open your holocron and read the knowledgebase on this one.

Novice question sorry:
¿and shipwright and rebel pilot?.
Shipwright is not faction aligned. You can be both but not too many shipwrights have time to be pilots, at least not right now.
On the ground you can be whatever faction you want. In space you can be whatever you want. They are independent. You just can't be imp/reb or reb/imp.
