Thread: In Sector Communications

I'm probably missing something, but in sector space communications seem to be lacking.

The distance limitation of /say /shout are less than my weapons range which makes sector wide 'enemy' transmissions difficult (say facing a fleet, not a single pilot).

It also makes it impossible to announce the presence of a routine patrol (combat, assistance, pirate supression, escortetc) in the sector.

I am not looking forward to the presence of spam in space, but there are times where the ability to talk beyond 500m would be handy.

Without tangentinginto the typically creative and kinddiscussions on why someone would want to do this in the first place, and how dumb of an idea that is, can someone tell me if I am missing something (perhaps a /sector command?)

Thanks in advance.

i have never noticed anything about a sector command or anything of that sort. but i think it's a great idea! i ran into some people flying around last night around me and a friend's mission and it just seemed like i should be able to talk to them and not send tells to talk to them. it was kind of a pain. we actually joined up in a group just so we could talk and let them know if we needed help or visa versa. and with the underpopulation of jtl, i don't think that there would be too much spam, and it would be nice to know if there are other people around. great idea!
