For whatever insane reason, the default primary fire key/button is one that "fires and cycles primary weapon group." Change your fire key to the "fire primary weapon group" option instead. Then pres G while in flight. Assign each of your weapons to a seperate group, and assign a key or button to switch groups only. Switch them out as needed.

...or just get a better capacitor/capacitor overload :-).

Just a quick question - what does G do?

Greetings,

I have acquired a Dune Lizard (The Narayan II), which I have successfully fitted with equipment. There are two weapons (Ion and basic blasters). When I fire, both fire, which is draining my power supply too quickly, and although I successfully modified the options on the ship so that the fire switch would only fire weapon 2 (Ion blaster), I would like an option where I can switch between the weapons in flight without resulting to configuring options - as that is not the best solution in the middle of a dog-fight.

I understand that by default, options are set to fire and alternate primary weapons. Is there a way to just alternate and always fire the primary weapon rather than both during mid-combat?

G activates your starship weapons Group screen. From here, you can assign what group fires what weapon(s). You can then remap that pesky mouse button (cntl-o, then select space/keybinds), to fire current weapon group, instead of fire and cycle.

You can select other weapon assigned groups with Shift+Mouse button
