Thread: x4xx freelancer corsec pilot mission

i am currently 4333 corsec pilot and my current trainer is the guy in the cantina at the dantooine mining outpost. i have to do a mission in order to train the x4xx box which requires following wp's in space and eventually attack blackscale pirates. the convoy comprise of 3 tier 4 pirates which i haqve no problem taking out with my jsf, but the leader is a tier 4 yt-1300 and it is impossible to kill. as soon as i get too close he starts shooting at me and im dead before i can do any substantial damage. ive targeted engines, reactor, weapons 1 and 2 and no luck. i cant survive long enough to take him out.
how am i meant to pass this solo? i dont know any hiigh level pilots so i have to do it solo.
i've heard space bombs, maybe. dont know where to get them so i havent tried them. im on bria so if any1 wants to give me a hand feel free to send me a /tell or email to PashaK.

For tier 4 YT you will not need ordenance, all you need is a good tactic Firstly: YT´s only have 2 weapons, one on top, one below. So "dive" onto the YT and take out its top weapon. Then it cant fire on you anymore when your are on top of it, repeat with the one below if you need the YT diabled. Or simply destroy the reactor first if you need it destroyed (Reactor will make it stop flying and seize firing after it´s cap is shot dry.

Target the weapons and do jousting runs at either the top or bottom so only 1 gun can shoot at you at a time. Tier-4 YTs, Decimators, and Novas go down very easily if you don't try to fight it like a fighter. No need for ordinance.

thanx for the responses guys...
i have been shooting it from the side and have been directly targeting the reactor. i'll have to try for the weapons one at a time. i think my equipment is pretty good, i only use one weapon that does max damage of 2400 because my jedi starfighter only has 90k mass.

ok i done it, i went up in my 190k mass ship, equiped 3 weapons, missiles, evrything,
took out the 3 tier 4 escorts no probs. went after the tier 4 yt 1300 and pumelled weapon 1, it destroyed all my weapons except one and my armor, i finally took out its reactor and then finished it off with my last weapon.
then i got mission complete, and 5 tier 5 ships came in. and i was like, holy s**t. 1 weapon, damaged evrything.
i took it slow and finally took them all out. yay
thx for all ur help. now i just gota space grind another 1 mil xp for xx4x and do that mission which im sure is harder. (hidden daggers).
if any1 wants to grind space with me. send me a tell or email anytime.
