I pre-ordered but am 17 still, will that 18 of age crap still effect me with this pre-order beta? if it does then SOE can go to hell cuz i know they letting 13 year olds who went to fan fest beta. if i can beta then good, ill like SOE a bit longer. :-p
btw, yes another pre-order thread, woope

WELL, I was having doubts myself...so I went to gamestop.com and ebgames.com and looked...now I could have SWORN it used to clearly say OPEN BETA...but now it only says BETA.
Now Im hoping it is open, because if I cant play because of the NDA, but I payed for it...someones gonna get a piece of my mind, and it wont be a happy part.

Indeed. I paid for the preorder with MY money, earned at MY job. AndI'm only 17. So if I get robbed MY $30 I spent on MY preorder with MYname, I'll be to SOE as an AT-STis to a Rebel NPC.

bad news,..... SOE screwed us again!
now clearly their was no page when i pre-ordered they said nothing about being 18..... now their given me crap about being 18....
Also, we DO NOT get our new vehicle, you must register your beta CD to get it and we cannot register the CD without being 18.

The age limit is completly stereotypical...
There are plenty of 18+ people, who shouldnt be allowed to "test"

Wait a minute. We don't even get get the vehicle!? Not that the vehicle is really, really great, but we shouldn't be denied a vehicle because we're not 18. (I'm 15) This is outrageous!

On the launch pad, go to regester expantion and enter the pre-order code. THen you will get your speeder

I'm pretty sure the pre order CD liner said MUST BE 18 TO PARTICIPATE IN BETA. Now of course this is not listen in the "Beta Requirments" on the OUTSIDE of the boxbut it is on the INSIDE. Damn gimmecks and crap.

Actually it clearly says on the back of the box that you must be 18 in order to participate in the beta. And I quote: "Must own and have an active account in good standing of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided to take part in the Jump to Lightspeed Pre-Order Beta program. Must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the Pre-Order Beta program and agree to the Jump to Lightspeed Terms of Use, Liscence, Non-Diclosure Agreement and other terms and conditions". I'm pretty sure that it also said you have to be 18 to participate in the beta on the website, but I can't confirm that since apparently the bonus disk offer has been taken down.
However just because you cannot participate in the beta that doesent mean you wont be eligible to claim the bonus vehicle once the expansion goes live. TH has clearly said that if you pre-ordered with either EBGames.com or Gamestop.com then you will receive the vehicle. Look, I know it's frustrating to not be able to do most things when you're underage, but these things are for a reason. You cannot legally sign a document if you are underage, and if you cannot be legally held to the NDA, then you cannot be in the beta. The only reason why some of the minors were allowed into the beta who went to Fanfest is because that was a small exception where the devs could have the parents sign for them. However on a much larger scale like this it's impossible to manually process each individual case who is underage and needs a parent to sign for them.
The NDA is the only reason why you're not able to join in on the beta, it's not about maturity or anything like that. This is only a legal issue. Please don't show your age by throwing little tantrums shouting about how you paid with your money, you work a job, yada yada, because the fact is that the only thing you paid for is the actual JTL expansion when it comes out. The pre-order beta and the bonus vehicle are completely free, and SOE owes you nothing but the actual JTL expansion. Yeah it's frustrating having everyone think you're just a kid because you're not the magical age of 18, but in the end this is just a beta which will be over in a week. Life goes on and it will only be another couple of years until you won't ever have to worry about things like this again.

they should make this more clear :-/ on the directions came with the disc, it said go to a website and register, in which we got the you must be 18 crap, but the way you stated works, thanks.
