I am an imperial on the ground. Smugglers Alliance in space. However, I have always been able to attack either faction plus neutral npc's.
Last night a few of us went to Deep Space and I had to choose a side. Obviously the only option I got was "Imperial" so I took it and we flew around a bit.
Upon returning, I had landed and logged out.
Now when I log in today and went to Kessel all Imperial ships show up white and I can't target them. Rebel ships show up red.
In regular space, both Imp and Reb ships show up yellow (the usual norm for me) so this only happens in Kessel.
Any idea's to fix this?
I already tried declaring my PvP status, then landing, getting the msg that my status has been changed to Neutral. But when I launch again and return to Kessel, I'm back to not being able to attack Imperial ships.

My advice is to first try to redeed any ship that you have the perma overt problem in. The problem might be tied to the ship, rather than to you. Ideally, you redeed and generate the ship and the problem is solved. If you remove all the components and, for some reason, can not redeed it, do an in-game CS ticket to have someone 'fix' the ship.
I know, I know, go ahead and laugh. Most CS responses are generic crap that does no good, but in this case they are able to actually solve the problem.

Help? Geez, I want to know HOW YOU DID IT! That'd save me the trouble of getting Overt status every time I launch!

Aden, I'm not sure what you are asking, but I will assume for now it is:
"Could you please tell me what was done to cause the 'perma overt' problem in space so that I might be able to avoid this problem in the future?"
Well, the cause was MadDragoon's short stint in Deep Space. He choose Imperial in order to get his Neutral ships into a PvP area. I believe the bug is that once a Neutral Pilot makes that choice to go into Deep Space, the ship that was taken isconsidered of that faction even after you leave the zone. The obvious result is thatall NPCs inKessel become Red aggressive hostiles or White unattackable friendlies. Imperial and Alliance Pilots might not mind, but Neutrals have a great advantage in Kessel because the normal situation is that every NPC isYellow, all of them can be attacked, and they only aggro once you have hit them. Another result is that, in MadDragoon's case, he would be able to fire upon any Yellow Rebel NPC in any zone - those NPCs would have been unattackable to him before his trip to Deep Space.
If that's not what you are asking, feel free to try again

Redeeding might actually help. If it does not, redeed and wait for server restart before you generate again. That usually works fine.

CSR no reset.
Instead what I had to do was (since I was in my YT1300) land, then launch in a single seater ship, declare at the nearest imperial station, then land again, problem solved.
I was informed it's a known bug with MP ships entering deep space.

It is a known bug, but I don't think it's limited to MP ships.
