For those of us with tons of lots, could it be possible for a feature to be implemented to add a lot to your ships, thus increasing the storage space to 150? That would be very useful.

/agree. My yacht is fully decorated by when capped at 75 items, many areas are still incomplete or empty. The yacht is too big to adequately decorate with only 75 items. I would gladly dedicate more lots to get more storage.

That would be nice.
But think about this diplomatically. The crafters/politicians that have next to 0 extra lots will feel hung out to dry.

Absolutely. However, as an MMO, compromises need to be met. If it were left up to the players, no one would compromise for their fellow player. So, as difficult of a job as it is, the devs must make those choices for us.
I think that the changes made to the yacht already (mostly in beta) met a fair compromise for all players.
