Thread: Is just JTL feasable?
The money is more than adequate. There are tier1 NPC missions in tatoo space that pay 45k each when you complete the string, plus taking Duties and selling parts. Look into doing missions for space stations as they become available, since those tend to have generous payouts. Since all the costs for piloting come at outlay and there are very few ongoing costs (decay is too slow to warrant replacements, and you dont need things like buffs or foods). I actually use JtL to pay for my space and ground activities.
Also, consider space mining for a shipwright.I'm sure they'd pay well for the resources, as they arelabor intensive to gather.

It's that high because barely anyone likes mining. It takes too long and there are a lot of bugs.
Back on topic, it's very possible to have a pilot only character. You can do duties for credits and loot which you can sell, and missions often pay well.

I have found during my grind to master Pilot,that this is the best,and fastest way to make money in game.First you have your tier mission which pay,and any loot u get,u can use or sell to a SW for 1500 to 3000 a lvl per a part..most of the time..so they can have things to help with Re;ing.
Then theres the duty mission..some are better than others..like the black sun tier 4 one in dant space..pays 4500 per a job,then u move to next one..the more u do in a row "which out ending it" ..the higher you get paid per a Job. and the loot seems to be good,nice credit disk when your done,and different lvls of parts looted..u just seemed to get those lvl 2 things off them,but u do get some lvl 9,and 10's which u can use or sell to a SW..and even if you only get 1500 per a lvl..thats nice chunk of change there..
and now theres space mining..which seems to pay well,didnt have this when i was grinding Pilot.
I did do y-8 quest..and I just use it as a house boat..Not having a yaht yet..still under 3months 
and if your doing that blacksun duty mission from lok rebel trainer..theres allways a chance of looting a blacksun helmet..I guess how much u can sell that for just depends on your server..seen them go for a few millions
so starting a new char on a server,is easy to get money at any lvl of tier..and always if your novice or lower tier pilot..look for a ACE Pilot hanging around starports.."this means,they have nothing to do" and they just might take u up in a nova or what ever there master ship is..for some hvy xp grinding..
I do this,and I let the gunners spilt the loot..I can pilot and run droid commands easy"jumping chair to chair...so,i dont have to bring a 4th guy to be bored LOL
