What is the difference between the two?

As far as I know, the only thing is that the LP gives you control of both weapons. There may be others, but I don't know 'em... Maybe mass?

The LP Y-wing has more mass. That is all I know, for i have not flown in one as of yet.

standard Y-wing is two player, with the 2nd gunning the back, the longprobe has more mass and the pilot controls all weapons (but isnt two player).

Only if you set it up that way. That's a waste of power (depending on the target). I have the front guns in one group and turret in another. I have a button set up to rotate through groups. Disruptors and Ion cannon. Ion to disable shields, then disruptors to cut through armor...

yes you can fire both guns at the same time. However, im not sure how to group weapons, i want to make it so i can alternate between both cannons, if i run low on capacitor power. I heard you can do this but not sure how to, can anyone tell me how?

Which brings up another similar question, can you set X wing blasters to Single, dual-linked, and quad fire?

I think it's the G button.. Look on your keymap for the 'Weapons Group Assignment'

This will let you add weapons to the weapons groups which you fire with the number keys 1-5
