and I can't get it off. I swear I don't know if I have had a more aggrivating experience in this game than flying around in circles for 8 minutes before I die. I tried all the tricks, I stopped and started, did barrel rolls, everything but this little fekker wouldn't even let me look at him, which makes a whole lot of sense since I'm driving a tank of a Y-Wing and this NPC is buzzing around in aTIE-retard. It's like chasing my own tail, only my tail has a little b*stard in it and makes an annoying noise as it shoots hot green lasers up my rectum.

roll and turn bro, everytime i do im on HIS tail. But thats just me, i couldnt do it without a joystick

try slowing down to about half your max speed maybe a bit less, then roll and turn. that usually works for me

You could also check to make sure you don't have yourself targeted Nothing more embarassing than chasing your tail for a couple minutes

use roll and yaw at the same time, works well.
Always go the opposite way he is going. never try to outturn him. If he is close, it is easier...lets say he has commited to left turn, using roll and yaw at the same time turn hard right, then loop so you get him on the headon. This should give you a chance to get on his six.
