So, I just started playing and I've been flying around in my TIE doing missions, but I can't figure out if I can, or how to, unlink my lasers so that they fire one at a time instead of both at the same time. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

It's in your keybindings. Bind your fire button to weapon 1, another button to weapon 2, and so on. By default, the fire button is binded (bound?) to "Fire and Cycle weapons".

Ctrl-o, click on Controls, and at the bottom there is a keybinding button.

unfortunatly, no there is no way to link your lasers in any ship. this would be a good featutre to have and should be added.

this was brought up in beta, the answer is No. each cannon fires two bolts, so if you had room for 2 cannons then you can make it so you shoot 2 and then 2, but not single fire. I wish that we could.

I think the original poster is talking about unlinking your weapons like you could in TIE fighter and have the pair of laser cannons cycle. However due to the fact that all weapons in JTL are installed in pair and fire in pairs it is impossible to unlink weapons fire of a installed pair. So for your basic TIE with one mount it will always fire linked because the pair are really treated as one weapon.

Standard Tie only has 1 set of weapons. Weapons, when loaded, always fire in a "pair" there's no way to unlink them. Once you get to a tie interceptor I believe you can mount 2 weapons, which you can divide up into two weapons groups and fire separately.

Some of the moments I remember best are making strafing runs on Mon Calamari cruisers with a TIE interceptor with the weapons unlinked.

Oh...never played that...Why the hell would you want to do that (shoot one gun at a time)??

High ROF, especially when attacking capital ships where you where more intrested in evading incoming fire than landing accurate hits.

Interceptor only gets 1 projectile mount and 1 missile mount so it won't work even then hehe.
