Hello,

I picked up SWG at release, and played like crazy for a couple of months. I ran into some of the problems most everyone did back then, and became rather disenfranchized (hey, if you're in the states, it's election day--you're going to hear it a lot...get used to it! ).

When I read a review of JTL, I decided I should give it another try. So far, I'm happy with what I'm seeing. I have a few questions, though, I'll start with the technical:

I'm experiencing a huge amount of lag, that seems to be graphics related. I've been hanging out in a nearly empty city, and when I approach groupings of buildings, trees, etc., I get serious lag. I don't remember it being this bad before. Since I last played SWG I've upgraded ram (to 768MB) and my video card (ATI Radeon 9600, I believe). I used to have problems when I'd run under the trees on Naboo that would drop a leaf bomb on you, but this is literally any time something big gets on screen. Any pointers appreciated here.

OK, socially, I'm curious where people hang out nowadays. I left before player cities. Moenia on Naboo was a hot spot--today it's all but abandoned, save the newbs that are wandering in. I know every server has different hotspots, but I'm wondering if in general these cities are generally what the old non-player cities used to be like. The two I've visited were abandoned.

Trade-wise, I was half way through the Architect tree, building little pink houses like crazy. Is there still a market for that? I'm assuming Starships is a huge boon right now, and I'd like to move that way, but, having never had a vendor, I'm not sure if trades are really worth it at all if you aren't a member of a big group.

yes, NPC cities seem dodgy right now, Moenia is a ghost town on every server. Other than that, you go and have a walk, you will see a few new things.

Oh and everyone used to hit Corellia, now? Space.

I landed on coronet and have not yet visited any other planet then dantooine. Population seems to be concentrated onCoronet. However, with the release of JTL they seem to be shootting thingies in space and hardly on the ground. the cities with pilot trainers seem to be the ones mostly populated... then again I have only been playing four days...

Any pointers on the lag issue? I'm not sure what I might need to turn down. I really expected better performance with the video card upgrade.
