Hi,

Yesterdayi joined the Corellia Police Pilots Thingy, and took to space on a patrol mission. Unsuprisingly i then came up against some pirates. I promptly lost them. Now, the reason was that i had no idea how to change the height of the ship, meaning hitting them was never going to happen. Also the fact that my view kept locking on to one of them, and i as therefore looking at the floor of the ship for much of the combat didnt help... I've looked in the manual and cant see how to change the level of the ship in there so could someone explain to me please?

You lost me m8. However advice I can offer is this. Pressing num lock toggles between viewing the target and viewing straight in front of your ship. The height thing....I don't have a clue, as I said you need to clarify this. Use the radar down the bottom of your screen. When the red dots are in the centre of it, they will be in front of you.

When at the side, they are behind you. Use the bracket keys [ ] to target specific components and disable the ship. Targeting the engine stops them from flying about.

Then just blast them away.

heh, i thought i probably didnt explain that well enough, what i mean is how do i move up and down? (so when a ships flying underneath me it means i can get level with it) Ive worked out you can do it by rolling then staffing, but surely there's a simpler way to do it then that?

Thanks

Space has 2 modes, control and clicking. Use the alt key to switch between the two of them. Control will allow you to use the mouse or joystick to control the x-y-z axis (hence you move up or down, left or right, and change your position) while the click mode allows you to use your mouse to select various buttons or whatever.

I found out what it was, on the flying options i had it set to "automatic" on the joystick options, which was meaning i hada perfect view of the whole cockpit and had little control over where i was heading. So now ive set it to "virtual joystick" and it works fine in terms of both keyboard and joystick

Thankls for the help
