I am currently attempting to do Lt. Colonel Aqzow's first mission (I am a rebel pilot in arkon's squad), and my mission is to disable a YT-1300 and escort it somewhere. However, when I show up to disable it, it basically rips right through me and destroys my ship before I can even get the shield down. I am flying a ywing longprobe, my shield has has 1243hp in the front and back and my armor is about 837hp. I am 2/2/2/2 in the pilot tree and I cannot train a skill until I complete this quest. Can I maybe get better equipment or do I need to get some help to do this one? Is there a tactic I can use?

Bring a friend. Get used to this tactic, as you'll need it a lot to get through Tier 3.

I did that Mission
actually i did it with Treena hehe. Try to get under it, thats what we did, lambdas are weak underneath and go for the rear turret first, when thats done its easier to take the engine out. Oh yeah, Ion cannons are your friend.

By the way, since the title of this thread is "what do you guys think", I think that Drusilla needs to check her PMs more.

I don't know the mechanics of this mission, but often its best to use a friend to anger the big ship, and run, and then follow it from behind and work down its shields at about 550m. If it stays on your friend, who is running a straight line, you can really nail it.
I have heard this is the way to handle "super fast chaser gunboats" but haven't tested it yet, but it may work for you in this case. I am told the AI wants to keep following the first person who hit it, and it will ignore you as you decimate it. Be ready to switch roles in a hurry with your friend should it about face though. ![]()
