I am normally a person telling everyone to be patient, but I think it is getting close to when we need Beta information. Here is a rough timeline based on what I think is reasonable
10/15 JTL release (have been hearing 10/26)
8/15 Beta starts - yes that is an 8 week Beta not 6 weeks, but I would leave in some room if I were the devs. Also, do they need to leave time to incorporate changes before they print the JTL discs for distribution, or are changes during the beta phase going to be hotfixes?
8/8 Beta software ships to those selected to be in Beta (unless it is a download)
7/22-8/8 Devs review Beta applications
7/15 Devs ask for applications for Beta
I figure the Devs won't accept everyone who signs up for Beta, so there has to be some kind of review process. I would hope we start seeing Beta information in the next 2-3 weeks.

In the update notes on teh webpage they mention something about the beta, not sure what but it seem to be forgotten

I think beta should be gearing up pretty soon....
They are definately in alpha now (or so I guess), so once they get most of the features ironed out a bit and it ready for lots and lots of players, we will get in.
Remember that we are going to have to level up the shipwright professions, etc.so we will need some time heh. Though, I bet they may introduce XP terminals again, hand us the minerals, give us ships...but who knows.

Is the beta only for communtiy leaders, elders, and veterans? because ive been playing for 9 months and havent started using the forums till now..

not sure what they mean with that

No, forum activity will probably have no bearing on beta acceptance whatsoever.
From what I've heard, preference will be given to A. People who attended FanFest, and B. People who play on TestCenter a lot.

Beta will be based mostly off your time in game. They may consider how long you used the forums, but not sure on that. Forum rank however has no bearing on a beta slot.
