Thread: Is it just me or does there seem to be some laziness as far as Imp chassis' go?

OK... I don't know about you guys, but it seems like somebody just got tired of doing new models and threw in a bunch of "ships" that were just variations of the same things.

What's this "Light Duty" TIE all about? That's silly... A TIE is a TIE is a TIE...

Imperial Guard Interceptor? Just a regular interceptor painted red.

TIE/In? Never flown one of this, went straight to Interceptors, but I seem to recall them looking like regular TIE's I may be mistaken, but that's three chassis right there that JUST use the regular TIE model.

And what the hell is with these "TIE Aggressor and Opressor things? They all look like variants of the TIE Advanced. The body remains the same, just with another aerofoil or whatnot attached. Not to mention the Oppressor looks like a junk dealer went glue happy.

I mean, where's the TIE Defender? Where's the Assault Gunboat?

And now we get a friggin Jedi Starfighter and some junk-heap that is supposed to be older than the Z-95? What?? I'm so sick of these stuff being made up and thrown in... Where's the classic stuff?

If you remeber in the movies, pretty much all the starships the Empire had were TIEs and they mostly were the boring normal types

Altho I do agree. The first 3 Imp ships could have used a little more creativeness. All your doing is shading it a slightly darker blue and giving it 6k more mass....

The empire may choose to take a standard design, and use better structural materials so it needs less cross bracing in the internal frame, making a lighter, stronger craft with more internal space for equipment.

They'd still manufacture the cheaper ones for en mass use.

Its not totally unrealistic, though its nice to see variations in the ships you attack that are not limited to textures.

agreed, where is the experimental TIE that cloaks? remember that one? just cause in the movies they used a normal TIE, doesnt mean that in the books and many other games the different TIE variations in those dont exist. Im i wont fly the TIE's cause of this, cause they look the same, so no eye candy like the rebels do with their different ships and cockpits, Imperials cant change the texture or color of their ships, which is sorta understandable. But like i said, i wont fly the TIE cause there is no real noticable differences with most of them, thats why i only fly the Decimator and JSF, and the Lamda Shuttle when it finally comes out!

Hmm. Tie Defender....

But Yes, the Empire is technically a mass army, with standardized Vehicle use. You wont see TIE Aces with Flame-Paintings on their wings or such. As Such, the Std-TIE is what most People see. All Varients of the Movies exist in game.

Err, wasn't the TIE Defender first seen in that awful game Rebel Assault? I know it appeared in later games, but how is that ugly hunk of junk different from the Oppressor or the Aggressor?

Just be a real imp and stick to the Interceptor. I think as an Imp, I'd have a hard time justifying flying anything other than that anyway. It just wouldn't feel right.

I'm not even an imperial and i would like to see some more imp ships flying around, it adds flavor. Like the tie Ghost, that would be a nice addition, and I wouldn't complain about the crimson interceptor, thats the only ship with color that you guys have, besides the JSF, which is not faction specific.

Its Been Real, Its Been Fun... But it hasn't been real fun. I hope that everyone that stays has fun with the NGE. And Remember....Stay Classy SWG ;-)
