Thread: BAD lag
It's a well known bug. (not so) affectionately called the "drunken bees".
No one has really been able to explain or figure out why it happens though, seems like lag yet it doesn't. Odd, really...
Happens for me rather rarelyfrom time to time, but when it does it usually stays until the next server reset.
From what I can tell, this bug seems to be related to three things: #1) Type of Connection
#2) Lag on servers.
#3) Computer RAM
I had this problem SEVERELY. I went into Space and either the Enemy Ships were jumpting around all over the place, or they wouldn't move at all. Starnge that it seems to get worse when the ships are either targeted or fired at.
Solution: For me, the solution was simple. I went to a Computer at the local College Library to check this problem out. I keep the game and all related files and programs on an External Hard-drive ( $149.00 at Wally World. Because I has some severe computer problems and neede to replace a couple of comps. I got tired of Downloading the updates iver and over). I took the hard-drive to the Library and hooked it up to their Computer. Mine was a lowend Ram (below 512m), and I had a 56k Dailup connection. Their's was 512 RAM, cable connection. When I ran the game there, the space bug dissapeared.
If you have Cable Connection, and a512 RAM, I don't know what to tell you. All I know is that the problem went away for me the INSTANT I rand the game as described.

I'd have to say that it has nothing to do with computer RAM or the type of connection. ![]()
There are some of us with 1+ Gig RAM and on high speed connections that still get the bug from time to time.
Its a sever end problem I can watch on my modem where I am getting no data in at all then the lights go solid and everything jumps like crazy till the server gets cough up where my computer says it is.
seen this on both a high speed connect (MB per sec) and a 56k modem, on both data flow stops entirely and then suddenly the server dumps all the movement into one packet and warp-age as everything tries to catch up.
