I'm flying the ARC-170. I had a standard ship when I got it. It comes empty, so you have to put your own stuff in it, but all I did was transfer the equipment from my other to it. Even with the same equipment, it flies 100% better. The weapons won't fire without the S-foils opened, and it uses a Astromech instead of a Flight Computer, but it turns like a dream. So far, I haven't found an NPC that I can't fly rings around. Well worth the quest to get it.

PS Just FYI, I'm a 4333 Pilot.

The JSF is a space PvPers dream come true. The arc 170 is a pretty quick ship with room for three. The JSF has an extremly small profile and turns on a dimme.

The JSF is being used by everyone (well, I'm using a Grivious fighter, but it's basicly the same thing)
It's one of the fastest ships in game, both in speed and in YPR, and it's small and hard to hit too. And it has 90k mass, so you can fit lots of stuff in it too.

The ARC 170 is a really cool ship, but it's only useful depending on what you do with it. Flying solo, I don't have any problems taking on tier 1 - 3 fighters, but beyond that, you need some strategy (there is an excelent post on that in either this or the pilot forum) and gunners, since it has only one forward gun.

One thing of note, you have to do a quest for both the JSF and ARC 170, and the quests for them are rather buggy. Also, you have to be a ground Imp for the JSF, and a ground Reb for the ARC 170. You may also be interested to know that the grivious fighter has the same stats as the JSF (it's a tad bigger though) but you don't have to do a quest for it, you can buy it if you've got the cash.

I'm using the JSF for most general stuff.

For anything with alot of dogfighting (just fighters), I use my Crimson Guard TIE Interceptor. Its more manueverable than the JSF at high speed.

the arc's 125k mass runs out pretty quick and with only one forward gun it just doesnt cut it ,the jsf may only have 90k but i have it fully fitted ,unlike most i have have everything installed and 2 lvl 7 guns ,which i have used to take out everything in kessel bar gunships (which for some reason kick the crap outa it compared to even the corvette ,which ive solo'd with this) ,the two guns make an great difference ,i can fire out a constant stream of firepower ,basically saturating the target ,awsome for those agile a-wings especially!!

The JSF is godlike - I have a 103 max speed engine, 1900+ shields with an 11.87 recharge rate, and with Reactor Overload 3, Engine Overload 3, Weapon Overload 3, Weapon Capacitor Overload 3, and Capacitor to Shield Shunt loaded into my astromech with a 16.4 speed droid interface, nothing can stop me. I don't get hit unless I am willing to get hit, and I can recharge my shields as soon as I take a solid hit.

There are only one problem with the JSF and the Bellubab-2: HOW fast they are...dogfighting is a joke. You just turn and turn around each other. I would imagine it is tough to get a missile lock (I don't bother with missiles on my JSF, no need for it with two powerful guns I can fire ad nauseum without the capacitor running dry).

For PvE, though, I am on my Ace missions, and I have a feeling they're not going to be that difficult. I look forward to soloing a Corvette.

- We see it time and time again in the so-called "content" the developers throw at us. This ain't Star Wars. It's some rip in the space-time continuum that spawned a parallel universe in which Order 66 went horribly-wrong and thousands of Jedi babies got smuggled away like Luke to be raised elsewhere, and now they are all coming of age and making holy terrors of themselves on the normal population for having turned on them a generation ago.
