Ok you would think that the devs would have learned from the ground game that its no fun in pvp when you can kill an opponent in 3 hits and combat lasts 4 seconds.

Devs, please fix this.

On a related issue, I am on the Corvette mission trying to get master. Its hard enough already trying to kill the corvette without having to worry about some griefers coming in and killing you in 2 shots. Even if the PvP damage is fixed, once people start getting high enough level Kessel will be crawling with people and it will be next to impossible to get your master box. I mean hard is fine, but impossible is not.

No kidding, a tier 2 NPC ship lasts longer in battle than a PC ship in PvP. Time to apply that 75% dmg modifier to space.

It's not just the high lvl ships, it's all PC ships. Go duel your buddy in your tier 1 ship, you'll kill him in two shots. Don't speak about things you know nothing of.

Next thing youll want is the ability to heal while in spacecombat, hell throw in some "space buffs" and some special food that chefs can make which makes youre ship dodge faster....

Space combat should be fun, not a 5 minute duel and heal fest....

Besides does it really hurt you that bad if you get toasted? NO! back at space station repair ship go out for another battle.

If you are getting killed pretty quickly in PvP space then maybe you need to rethink youre tactics, get better space combonents, pay attention to youre radar to know where youre enemies are.

You died in space and didnt like it, so now you whine about it.

Ever stop to think oh hes a good shot, wonder what components he has, probably a strong weapon to knock me down that fast, ooh maybe i have crappy shields and armor, ooh maybe hes a higher level than I am.....

Think about those things FIRST!!!!! before you friggin whine.

yer one to talk tomato boy. Putting the 75% pvp reduction is the mark of unbalance. they did it for the ground, they need to keep it out of space. incidentally, i have fought pvp with my tier one ship against another tier one ship. it was pretty much the same as shooting down a commerce raider on tat, in fact i have fought until about tier 3 and the ships i have flown against being equal and lower and there was no difference between them and the NPC fighters. Once you get the tier 3 ships and weapons it becomes more skewed and the fights get quicker. They need to balance the weapons and armor around the upper ships... not toss in a 75% fix.

hehe, think the kessel mission is gona be a real pain on one of the servers i play on atleast.

Got this from a chat channel on one of the servers. the were talking about when they got to master.. one said man it's gona be funny when i reach master and starting hunt imps while they do the maser misson. !!

Fu***** griefers. that statement just shownt how some ppl think. lucky i got JTL fast so i dont have to meet to many griefers. Kessel is gona be griefer's paradise. Hope most peeps have more sence then grief other player's. rember this is something that forced upon us.

And if the damage is the way it is now. man poor unlucky chumps that is gona do master missions. they wont even know what hitt em befor they spawn at the spacestation.

Sounds like someone got owned bad. Maybe you should get a better ship and better weapons, or become better yourself.

Damage is high in PvP, but it isn't crushingly so. I have been killed by quick salvos from foes, but that was because I had people get the drop on me, which I consider my fault. At the same time I did exceptionally well in PvP in Kessel today, and although some may see me as a griefer, and Kessel as a griefing haven, I had my most exciting play ever today.

Here's my story, I'm grinding for my Tier 4 boxes in Kessel. I am taking out a few rebel gunboats in my TIE Advance, and after my second kill I notice a rebel pilot nearby, I quickly target through everyone nearby and I realise that I am facing a full squadron of PC rebel players. I decide to grab the bull by the horns and switch my power to weapons, I come in low under the first target, a Y-wing and lay into him with my blasters, his shields flare, and collapse and I stay on his tail as he tries to turn with a second salvo his engines are gone and I see the pilot away. I target again and realize that the rebel A-wing, the only ship there that could out manuever me is turning down, and only 200 meters away, I cut power and turn upwards firing into the belly of the A-wing before he canaim down, that's two. Third target is an X-wing he knows I am here and is turning toward me I cut in low under the arc of his cannons (which could take me apart) and fire into his tail, his shields hold as he turns around trying to get me into his firing range, I cut power and turn to fire right into his cockpit, and empty two full salvos. Two left, first is another Y-wing, he fires a salvo at me but it glances off my back shields, I don't want to chance a missle which could destroy me outright, or even another salvo of laser fire which would collapse my shields, (And since I have no armor probably end my flight) so I accelerate under his craft, and turn upwards as his bulky ship lazily tries to come in line. I have all the time in the world to dump my blasters into him. Finally there is another X-wing, being hassled by two NPC TIEs, I feel almost guilty as I line up with his side and take him out.

When I hypered out after this combat I was absolutely enthralled. Seriously I have never had more fun in game. Each and every combat even though none of them took more than 20 seconds, was a pure rush, the danger of one solid hit taking my ship out (It is a light figther) made me feel an intensity that planned PvP lacks, as I walked the razor's edge of taking apart an entire squad of grouped Rebel pilots.

Now I admit that what I did could have been griefing, I have no idea whether the group I fought were themselves a gank squad hoping to kill a fewImps or a team of green pilotsgetting a feel for the big game in a scary new area. Either way I took out five of them on my own, andnothing could happen like that with a 75% reduction. Frankly at this point space combat is about getting the first hit, coming in at the right angle, and keeping your ship outside the line of fire. That is how it should remain. You need to be aware, you need to keep a heavy ship protected byinterceptors, and you need to have a strategy. That one pilot can walk the razor's edge andkill an entire groupis a good thing in a flight sim. Would Top Gun still be cool if Maverick couldn't shoot down a half a dozen foes, because each sortie took twentysalvos of fire?

That's cool, and I'm glad to see something like that in game, in general for the PvP zones. Something like this should NOT be happening for someone trying to do their missions. I know if I'm in a TIE and there's an X-wing, Ok, there's probably going to be a scrap. However, for missions required for advancement, PvP should be removed completely.

Oh, forgot to add this: This WILL be removed when enough people start reaching the Master level and the entire player base is threatening a mob scene. The fact is, this could be totally avoided by removing this.

Sounds like it was a blast!! And I'm really glad. But you just show why The damage is a bit high. one or two shot kills GREATLY benefits the fast manueverale ships. Even a level 5 ship can easlily two or three shot a top notch shields. I believe that would lead to a cookie cutter approach to forgo the B/Y wing approach of slow but hard hitting., because even tho you are slow you only have to get hit two or three times before you die.

I believ that it should be something like a B-wing should be able to take6 or8 shots before going down. an A-wing 1 or 2.

thats just my opinion tho

i actually believe that , that is not insane ships dont hold out forever(if u r refering to A-wings or tie intercepters) but stronger slower ships like firesprays(not sure if its slower really) NOVAs Y-wings YT-1300s should last some time in pvp

Perhaps we need to give the master shipwrights some time to unlock the potential of better shields, regen rates, and armor before we start to condemn PvP?
