Hi, not really sure where to put this, so I thought the JTL forums would be a good place. If there is a more suited place please let me know and I'll move and sorry for any problems it caused.
Just before the last patch (pub 23). I started getting serious rubberbanding in space (I'm on Eclipse server). So much so that I'm basically stuck in my current tier of pilot (3333). After a couple days of hoping it would be fixed quickly, I've come to realise it wouldn't be. Even after restarts of the servers it's still there. I tried again last night and was killed pretty quickly during a duty mission. The NPC ships jerk everywhere and I can fire till my brains fall out hitting them but it never actually lands because the NPC ship isn't actually in that spot.
My ship (A very lovely X-Wing) does constant stutters. Engines drop to 0, I move back about 30m and the engines wind up again.
Thankfully, a friend decided to help me get my 4xxx box. Even in a turrent in Kashyyyk space, the NPC ships jerked all over and did crazy things. But since I wasn't flying it wasn't the difference between life and death.
Normally, some lag issues don't really bother me all that much. In this case it does. One of the reasons I came back to SWG after swearing I wouldn't, was to do space stuff. Now that's fubar.
To answer questions before anyone asks.
Yes, I've read through SOE's knowledge base and tech support Docs located here on the forums and the main homepage.
Yes, I've Turned all programs off via msconfig and tried that way. (Which is probably the stupidest thing you could ever do with an always on connection.)
Yes, I have the latest drivers for every single thing on my computer.
Yes, I've reset my cable modem and spoken with my ISP and there are no issues.
Yes, I have tested other "twitch" based games to see if it's me and it's not.
I'm not a computer illiterate person. I know what I'm doing with computers. So I think I have that fairly covered.
I hope this brings the issue to SOE's attention. I know some people are not experiencing space rubberbanding, and for them I'm happy (Ok maybe not), but there are people who are experiencing it. I enountereda coupleduring my ill fated mission. I've also talked to several people in varies starports who are experiencing it. So I know it's not a huge number of people but it's enough for me and I hope it's enough for SOE to look into the issue.
Thanks

Couple questions:
What's your Ping when you are in space?
What zones are these happening to you in?
I know, for myself, sometimes I will hit 4k+ ping randomly and that causes serious issues. Other times, the zone will just be busy and will cause some stuttering. Those are the 2 biggest known issues with it, but who knows, it could be something else.

I also find /flushGraphicResource fullReset
sometimes helps...especially when you start seeing weird graphics that don't look like they belong.

Ping is usually around 70 - 90
I've tested it in every zone I can get too. Corellia, Naboo, Danto, Kash, Endor, etc.... Rubberbanding in each with different severities.
I had indeed thought it was my connection at first. As I mentioned after a while I decided to give it a try in other "twitch" based games ie. Quake3, HL2. Both these games are extremely suseptible to ping fluctuations and I usua;;y had a solid ping to my prefered servers of around 66ms average.

I'll give that a try. I've used that before on the ground when textures start getting ...uh... funky or I start doing the stut..stut...stutter. hehe
I'll give it a try inspace and see what happens.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Go read the stickied article in the tech support forum for "drunken bumblebee".
