Hey all,
this might sound like a newb question, but i've finished the space quest trainer missions (imp - bestine) - he's giving me duty missions now......
so where do i go from here? i can't find any information anywhere - i keep hearing questions about what to do about this tier 3 quest or that tier 4 quest etc...but where is all this content located?
also, every non-mission spawned mob i find i can't hurt? what gives? can someone point me in the right direction if a faq exists, or if not, answer some of this?
Thanks

Duty Missions serve no purpose other than a source of self xp... I personally despise them, and go kill pirates in Lok for xp.

I just did this same quest the other day.
Basically, the duty missions will get you all the xp you want at the cost of your mind after a little while [Read: These are mind numbingly stupid]. Right now, you're going to need two boxes of Pilot: Equipment and Technology i think it is... you get certification for a regular TIE and for Mark II/ Mark III equipment.
If you have a somewhat developed in-game character (not sure if you do since your post count is 3 :-D), then I would reccomend at getting here by duty missions (1100 in Imperial Pilot) and then, at that point, buying a regular TIE fighter and mark 2 stuff. If you don't have this kind of money, then go with what loot you have and just buy the chasis from a SW... although I might reccomend at least getting some SW components, such as shields and armor, which will be especially important for you.
Basically, you will absolutely need a regular TIE after you finish the first tier, as you need a hyperdrive. So if you don't have the money, figure out how to get some with your ground game. Plus, it will be much easier for you with better equipment.
I will emphasize that a regular TIE is amazingly better than the starter ship (CDEF ship as I call it) and you want to get one ASAP.
