Ok, lets just set the record strait, I'm just blowing off steam. No one in SOE, SWG, JTL, or anyone associated with the game is to blame for any of this. It's all my fault, if fault can be assigned.
I'm on this mission, fighting about three Ties and an Sdvance. I knock them all out but one, and then get jumped by an NPC YT-1300. This sucker KICKED MY EVERLOVIN BUT. Tha's not the bad part. I get back in space to try to find anotherone to kinda stomp, you know, to salve my ego? Can't find one.
Then, guess what?
My computer crashes.
Ohhh, kayyyy...
So I send the sucker off (a lappie), finally get the word back how much it's gonna cost to fix a used Laptop that I paid $650.00 for.
Guess, no go ahead and guess...
NO... $515.00.
For the love of Darth Vader, how much can my nerves take.
I'm a 41 year old college student, married, with a teenage daughter, fulltime student, NOT GOT A LOT OF MONEY HERE !!!
So guess what I'm doin now?
Waiting till I can either afford to get mine fixed (yeah, like tha's gonna happen), or till I can buy another (see previous captions), or hope I can rent one from "Rent-A-Center.
In the mean time, I wait.
I hate to wait.

That is a bummer, wish I could do more than give virtual hugs, and promise fresh cookies when you make it back ingame

The Force never ceases to amaze me. I made the post above in a very down moment.
And I've been downever since my computer went the way of the Death Star.
Untill just a little while ago...
I had called the Repair service that I had sent my Laptop to to tell them to cansel the repair request. They had not started it yet, and I didn't have $515.00 to fix it (being an older returned college student with a sick wife and a teenage daughter).
They lady that I talked to told me that they had not fixed it, since my authorization was required for any repairs. I explained my situation to her, and asked her to just send it back the first of the month, when I'd have to money to pay the 70 something dollars for the assesment and S&H, at least I could use it as a paperweight.
They fixed it anyway...
They haven't placed a charge against my account...
And they have shipped it.
"Amerika... wat a kontri !!"
Can anyone help me to figure out what just happened, and whether or not I'll have to give my daughter to some strange being for this turn of luck, or will I just get hit with a State size meteor as soon as I open the box?!?!?
I'm a little confused?!?!

wow, thank themaker.
sounds like you had a good turn of luck. Good for you.
I hope there were no strings attached. You might want to repay them for their generosity though. Maybe with a future purchase, or payment when you can.

Dear Sosured,
I agree on all counts. I DO thank the maker, and (poor though I may be) you can count on anything I can do for them. I'll pay them the amount that they quotes, if I have to sent the check CO the CSR that talked to me as soon as I can. Not to mention sending them as much buisiness as I can. I'm an old fasioned Southern Gentleman, I NEVER forget a debt or a favor, and I ALWAYS repay both with interest.
PS, It's good to see that there are other people in the world besides me who believe in Honor and Duty.
A heartfelt "May the Force be with You."

I have to say that this situation sounds very familair to one I have just a few months ago. My computer, an aging mid-tower desktop which one day felt that it could no continue it's dedicated service to me and passed away in a brief moment. I took my computer to a friend who works for a computer parts wholesaler who diagnosed the problem and told me it would cost $495.00 to repair. Well after hearing that and being a part time college student working two jobs to support not only myself but also my parents since my father has been ut of work for 3 years, I barely had $100.00 to my name. I told my friend to forget the repairs and give the case back to me and I would pay the consultation fee of $30.00. I told him it was time to tighten the ol' belt much much tighter that is already was to buy a new computer. To make this long story short, I go over to his house to get my case and there it is on his desk running like no failure had happened. He told that his manager said to repair the computer and to put the cost of doing so the company, that he would take care of the matter. Needless to say I am up and running and have not heard anything more about this. I have personally called my friend's manager and thanked him repeatedly for his kindness and generosity.
The Force works in mysterious ways. I do not believe the Force can be understood, we can only continue on and see what the Froce has in store for us all.

My daughter is 14, very lovely (Bear in mind that I'm her Father, so I may be a little biased). Ofcourse, she also plans to join the Army, and could likely pass Bootcamp and make a great Drill Sgt. right now. I pitty the man she ends up with.

"You do not need to charge me for these repairs"
"I do not need to charge you for these repairs"
But seriously that is great news - you gotta love it when that happens.
