Def. found from google

Beta Test - A beta test is the second phase of software testing where a not-yet-final version of the software is made available to a limited number of users so that they can test the program and provide feedback.

And sorry but "damn you devs this isnt eq" does not count as "feedback"

Your post also points out a fundamental weakness. A beta test is the SECOND PHASE of software testing. Alpha test never happened big guy. But good try.

Alpha did happen. You just weren't invited.

Ask the jedi correspondent. Alpha didn't happen. I know two "alpha testers" personally, and no, they put it off, they put it off, then finally sent a nice e-mail to them saying they were gonna go straight to beta. But again, good try.

well maybe they didnt do alpha testing acording do YOUR standards but do you think that in this "beta test" this is the VERY first time the CU code has been run? I bet not. KTHNXBI

I know what your problem is. Like myself you are very attached to this game. But unlike myself, you have not yet faced your greatest fear: that you may not be playing this game for very much longer.

Face the facts man, this game will not be the SWG we have lived and loved for 2 years. It will become more like some of the fantasy based MMO's out there, with maybe a slight nod to the Star Wars movies and the books of the EU.

Every day this week I felt it growing inside of me - a sadness, a sense of impending loss... depression. Then finally with the onslaught of information today it became PAINFULLY CLEAR that I would have to seriously reconsider the huge amount of time and effort that I've put into this game, and look at it from the other side - that is, looking at it in the past tense.

Even still I don't regret the last 1.5 years, it's been a GREAT ride, and I've had so much fun with many good friends. It is definitely sad that this all might be ending. I will wait and see what happens after the CU, but I have a sick feeling that it will be the end for my toons. We'll see.
