Any truth to the rumors that there will be a Hutt faction added to go along with the Imperial & Rebel factions?

To Do List:
[ X ] Master Smuggler profession
[ X ] Buy JTL so I can have a personal spaceship to Smuggle goods
[ ] Wait until Smuggler Revamp to be able to actually Smuggle well, ANYTHING.

There is nothing confirmed, and the Devs said at FanFest that there was not going to be a third faction introduced with JTL.

However, at that same Dev session they did say that, following the combat balance and smuggler revamp, there would be a "Hutt Revamp". They wouldn't go into any details on what that would be.

George Lucas says (love it or hate it) that only the Star Wars movies are truly canon - that is, that only the movies offer the true story of what happened in the Star Wars galaxy. According to George, all the events that appear in the Expanded Universe - comics, novels, games - did not actually happen in the Star Wars galaxy, but are only additional tales that provide "what if" scenarios and events.

Many people hate George Lucas for this, since even though he personally approves all Expanded Universe material, markets it under LucasFilm, LucasBooks, LucasArts, and profits greatly from it, he still says it is not canon.

Yea... the rummors came when they said there were gonna be Hutt fighters. But there is no truth to them.

The concept of a third criminal faction has been floating around since near the begining of the game, and if the devs where ever going to impliment one, it would seemreasonable they'd add it with a mega-expansion like JTL, but one would also think they'd hold off until after the Combat Balance...

Only problem with the Hutts though, is there not really a unified group as far as I can see, more like individual cartels...I suppose it is possible there could be a coalition of various Hutt crimelords, but I would be shakey at best and Ican't see them forming any sort of substantial empire...

Black Sun would be more logical, but then again, it's questionable if they have an affitiation to the Empire due to Xizor...

They have said just because they're called Hutt Fighters doesn't mean the people flying them are members of the Hutt crime organization.

I think that they made the Hutt fighters not to start anew faction, but to give people that are neutral the ability to enjoy the game also! The other fighters will be faction style and you willneed faction points to get better fighters later as you advance as a fighter for that faction! That is just what i think the system will work like.One of the greatest things i will enjoy is that your skills will be based on you: and i am good at flying games.
