Yep. There was a huge thread in beta asking for a one-time species change and the devs never responded to it...

Haha! Yeah really. I mean, we got Wookies wearing armor! Why can't doggies wear helmets? Just goes to show the human race is the superior race. :-p

couldn't you shoot through the planet though? Or would the gravity of the yavin distort the beam...

I got a bigger question. In the Battle of Endor the Death Star had about 10 Star Destroyers patrolling. Where were all those Star Destroyers at the Battle of Yavin? Did the Empire think they needed no protection? Well, I would too if I had a Death Star. Too bad it had a tailpipe.
