Damn I hope someone can help. The original guy I did missions for in Mos Espa only offers me duty missions which are on-going and I can end whenever I want. Where do I go now to continue doing missions? Or do I stick with this guy doing duty missions until I have the entire first tier done?

Stick with the trainer, these missions are designed to get you xp, when you have enough to lvl up, you will get a required mission, after teir 1, you will get a different trainer....so on and so on....

In a word, yes. I just finished up doing the same thing, and you need to fly around and finish the first tier. Your not limited, of course, to flying those missions if you want to go to Nym's Hovel with some high powered guildmates and grind out more xp. But those missions the trainer gives you will feed you a steady supply of ships to shoot.

Also, I found that, until I went and talked to the trainer, I couldn't get more than one box's worth of experience for Tier 2 before it capped. So my suggestion is to follow the missions as closely as possibly, grinding once your required missions are done..
