Thread: Odd little feature...

Me and my Guild friend Baskitor (New to space)were cruising through the Tatooine system doing a regular duty mission and were suddenly helped by a small group of Level I X-Wing Fighters who hypered out of nowhere and then took off again after the enemy was defeated.
Later on our way back to the Space Station, we were pounced by a small group of TIE's which we beat off.
Is this new? Or has this been in the game for a while now.

I never every get any help on normal patrol duty missions.
And when it's random, it is usually just one kamikazeTIE Fighter. I thought the Empire had heard I was in the system and attemped to take me out.

In kessel I have constant help from NPCs, well more like I help them, if your on servers with active Ace Pilots you may find them sending you a tell asking if you need assistance.

I think its the 'beat'ing part of the sentence he found funny 
Jokes aside, yeah, I think you were just lucky to be helped (without it being a part of a duty mission), and unlucky to be attacked on the way back by a random spawn.
The worst is when you trying to get somewhere and constantly getting aggroed! "Just leave me alone will ya!!"

Might be an new "feature" might have just been part o.t. the duty mission as well.
But the TIE´s that attacked you on your way back are normal, you simply ran into a Randomspawn...
Oh and Hawk1138, I have no idea what you find so funny... Nothing funny about it. Maybe less beer might be a idea?

we were pounced by a small group of TIE's which we beat off...I found that hilarious last night. Today it seems very pedestrian. Sorry, didn't mean to come off as a troll or whatever.

Leave your radar set out at 8k and you will stop running into spawns you didn't know were there.
Don't know about npc waves jumping in and out and actually assisting. Only seen bit of that behavior on regular leveling missions.

Actually something similair happened to me.
My last Tier 2 mission had me go after a YT-1300 and some escorts. As I got there a bunch of what I think were NPCs or stupid players went into the fray eliminated most of the escort and kept the YT-1300 busy. However a few shots from it I decided not today and quick hurried to the space station for repairs. As I did that the NPC craft must have been destroyed cause all of sudden the sheer second I finish repairs bam the thing comes out from no where. It was pretty weak and I just wrecked the thing. Not sure if cpatured it or destroyed cause that was a long time ago.
