Yes. The first time you do it, its really amazing... You can get off your seat, look around the deck. Walk to windows and see the planets, asteroids, nebulae, other ships. Its really neat.

-I support a Galactic Civil War fought between regular, average players... Simply strict, hardlined Imperials & freedom lovin' Rebels fighting for control of the galaxy. A Galactic Civil War fought not with glowsticks or lightsabers, but with blasters, lances, and how much guts you have. A Galactic Civil War which reflects the timeline, the destruction of the Death Star, the absolute control which the Empire has and the brave Rebels trying to break up that reign... The extinction of all but a few rare and special Jedi. That my friends, is the Galactic Civil War and that is what we have to aim for.

I have two POB ships and love them to death; a Nova Cruiser and a Y-8 (then I have a SoroSuub on my second account and plan on getting a Decimator as well). They may not be very good in a fight, but they're still quite fun to fly around in. I have a blast decorating them, walking around them, taking people up in them, ect.

Same here... been spending quite a bit of time in my Soorusub, and am in the process of decorating my Y-8 now. On my other account I got the YT, and another Y-8, so plenty of work left for me...

I love to go up in one of them with a couple friends, just for the fun of walking around in them and enjoying the view.

Aren't the PoB ships also good for holding more crap? What is the item limit in these things?

I think the limit on the Yacht is 75 items. This could have been changed in Publish 17 or in ROTW.
