I've been talking to alot of people about space recently, and helping them on missions, because it seems alot of people get gated for months and while i've been talking to them they gave me some good ideas on what would improve jtl and make space more accessible for all.
1. Add Stock Componets, allow shipwrights to make stock componets for ships like how the tier 0 ships come with prototype.
Alot of peoplecant be bothered with space because its annoying dealing with mass, so add componets that would be balanced to make a ship functional, IE Ywing Cap, Ywing ion etc and getting all of them you can put them into your ship and fly. It wont make you uber or anything, if you want a better ship you'd still have to mix and match parts like now but this would make it easier for people who cant be bothered tweaking ships. Much in the Same way POB ships now have stock POB componets.
2. Add Friggin Convergence! nuff said.
3. Organize Squadrons by difficulty, IE
Smugglers Alliance = Very Hard, CorSec = Challanging, RSF = Easy
This way people who want the hard challanging missions can have them while people who arent so good pilots can still advance unless they really suck, then nothing can really help.
4. Minor but, Give an option to turn off nebula affects.
5. Give POB ships the ability to fire forward like the Y8 does.
6. Have an option for people to just grind for master. (Yes, Believe it or not there are many people who cant solo vettes and gunsboats, i've met many of these people) Maybe give less reward and no medal for it, but have the option there.
7. Give an option to convert the Vet Yacht to a combat vessel, maybe having to take the deed to a shipwright and they will be able to convert it to a normal 1 use deed and for the life of that char they wont be able to get another invulnerable yacht, and make this new deed only useable when someone is a master.
8. Give all imps the ability to do a quest to unlock landing at the emps retreat, same with rebels and the abandoned base.
8a. Give Smugglers regardless of pilot faction the ability to do a quest for jabba to unlock landing at his palace.
9. Add the ability for factions to own a sector like they can planets, and whomever owns the sector spawn a neutral star destroy or mon cal ship that will only attack if someone goes over to where its part and fires at it.
These would make JtL Alot more fun and accessible for people.

I don't think it's that hard, but okay. Customizing a good loadout is half the challenge.

I'd like this too, for style if nothing else. In the meantime, try turning to the side instead of pulling "up," helps your beams line up on the target.

The three you picked are probably the easiest in the game. But all of the squadrons are about equal, especially the factions based ones. People jump all overcertain squadronsfor being easier or harder because of one or two missions. Every squadron flies the same types of missions, with different stories.

Pretty please, with lots of other options to affect space performance.

Good grief, this is why I had to reply to your post. The Ace tag should mean something - it's not like vettes are rare or hard to find it's on a set timer. Get some friends and it's easy, why make it even easier now? Or practice, justlike you would with a single player game.
Frankly, if someone can't get to Ace, why should they get the tag?
Instead, add a deep space like battle field sector with NO NPC's where players can fight decay free, for the non-Aces.

Cool. But I'd rather see focus on the existing POB ships.

You can already do this from the Naboo station - run the first mission.

You can already do this from Tat station - I think.

We've been asking for the GCW to come into space for some time. There are lots of good ideas on the forums, along with lots of bugs to fix. Keep asking for it though.

Yes neutral pilot is the easiest but i was just using it as an example, as for vettes and gunboats yes they are tricky and yes they are easily solo able, i've done 2 in one day in kashyyyk and 1 in kessel but even showing people how they cant for some reason, the fact is though everyone pays there 15$ a month and not everyone has a ace friend, they shouldnt be gated from master, letting people grind 7mill pilot xp to master instead of the missions doesnt hurt anyone in least, Remember even in star wars not everyone is a Wedge Antillies or Anakin Skywalker uber pilot, heck jedi master sasee tinn was a jedi and was able to solo a capital ship and its escort, well not everyone is like that even in a game, they should be able to earn there way to master without having to pull off amazing feats, grinding 7 mill xp is alot of work, so it wouldnt be like they didnt earn it.

I like these ideas! Also, it would be cool if you could set up some sort of part exchange system for shipwrights, like cars!
But I guess that's down to player descretion

That's up to the Shipwrights. Get them to sell basic packages of Level X Y or Z gear, or get them to ask for more schematics like you suggest, but considering the current scheme overload for SW I doubt they'll go for it.

The new New Player Experience needs to have a segment added about piloting. Changing things so you're dumped in Eisley and have every basic profession explained to you EXCEPT pilot, is inexcusable. Now people dont even get the advantage of picking a city and having a line to their trainer light up.

There are many graphics options that need toggles in space. The boxes on everything, nebulae, and debris. Since nebulae technically do have a combat potential (neb strike) they shouldn't be totally off, but I'd like to have debris turned off sometimes.

Disagree, and I doubt you'll ever get the devs to agree either. It's not about solping the vette, its about progressing ins a fundamentally different fashion than just grinding it out and getting trained. Core design principle of JtL and it shouldn't be compromised.

Don't see that happening, and not sure I see the need. However I don't think I'd object to a new quest to get a modifiable SS3k from Lando.

All rebels can do the mission, I see your point in allowing Imperials too, but I dont think it will happen, since the entire Theme Park is based there. If it was one stop on a journey I'd buy the idea, but really, its not that long a drive unless you have to go umpteen times like an Inquisition pilot. Far more important is fixing the SA bug that cuts off pilots from doing their Palace Access mission at the exact moment they learn they need to go there.

Wish granted! It's been that way since they put in landing at Jabba's. BH too I think. ps- you're confusing landing rights with Palace Access. The ingame missions are for throneroom access, Landing rights are granted regardless of whether you do it.

Post that in the GCW in space focus thread, or agree with any of the other people who have posted it already.
These would make JtL Alot more fun and accessible for people.

Actually, stock components are easy to fit and easy to come by. Just search for the (Mark X) components on the bazaar, those are all shipwright made. And, while maybe not the best, they'll suit you just fine.

Convergance. Please. If they had it in WW2 then COMON they can have it in SW. I mean, its talked about in the "official" books.
Furthermore, yes wepons should be able to fire separately, or linked, or all at once... as they do in the films and books
Finally, there should be more cpaital ships roaming around up there; if this takes place between episodes 3, 4 and 5 Mon Mothma herself talks about the "imperial fleet being spread thin all over the galaxy in a vain effort to engage us"
So yeh, you've got the right ideas mate, keep it up

You guys should know that getting weapons to fire in certain patterns is simply a matter of setting your weapon groups and fire buttons.
Earning faction in space is also a simple matter of declaring as a space overt at a factional station.

IMO the most annoying thing in space is how some ships fire. I hate that the x-w fires from all four weapons at once, there should be an option to change this. In the movies x-wings never fired from all 4 weapons at once. Another thing that bugs me, is that why don't you earn/lose any faction points in space??
The whole space system should be a mix of Freelancer and X-wing vs TIE fighter games, i loved the mouse control in freelancer.
