I'm an Alliance Ace and mainly fly the hyper-manueverable ships, i.e. A-wing, & a Bel-22. Both of these have a single ordanance bay and both are very mass restrictive. I currently use a Proton III launcher and ammo. Is this the best option keeping my mass restrictions in mind?

could someone explain the image rec missiles to me and would they be an alternative?

Mark II Image Rec missiles lock on much faster than Protons and are not as easily fooled by countermeasures. Damage is a bit low compared to Protons. If I'm in Deep Space or overt, I usually carry IR2s.
