while blasting ties out of the sky last night, I suddenly found that my mouse (don't own a joystick) stopped controlling the direction of travel. I could still use the buttons to fire the weapons though (thus proving its not a muse issue). I checked the keymap and for some reason the pitch up and down keys were no longer assigned. However, there is no option to reassign them back the mouse ball. Any suggestions? I sent in a bug report, since this happened without any inputs other than normal flying. Yet there has been no response. Also I have tried logging out and coming back on a different computer and its the same thing.

this may seem like a simple response, but did you perhaps press alt by accident? pressing alt will make it so that an arrow comes up and you can see your toolbar in space. in this mode, you cannot control direction of your ship. if you want to control your ship again, simply press alt and it will go back to the piloting mode.
