Thread: Controller?
I use a Logitech Dual Action, which is a controller patterned after the PS2 controller. It's an upgrade from the mouse and keyboard and I'm not at much of a disadvantage, but there are things you can do better with a good stick (roll and shoot at the same time, for one). But it's pretty comfortable. I don't have a lot of problems with fatigue during long fights.
I envision the rolling, steering, and shooting to be programmable.
1) one of the sticks to control yaw and pitch
2) shoulder buttons to control rolling left and right
3) one of the buttons on the right to fire missles and weapons etc etc
Seem right?
add other buttons to toggle booster, targets, etc etc.....
I see some models have tons of programmable buttons to handle a lot of stuff......gonna give it a try to see if it helps. The most expensive one was only 29 bucks at best buy
Anyone else use these?....or know a hand/wrist friendly joystick?
Yep. Fully customizable.
The changes I made from default:
L2, throttle decrease
R2, throttle increase
L1, Target Nearest Enemy Player
R1, Target Nearest Enemy NPC
Rightstick, removed throttle control. Only rolling on that stick now.
Button 9, Clear Target
Button 10, cycle components forward
Button 3, match target speed
Basically I control my throttle with the shoulder buttons and mapped Match Target Speed over the Fire Countermeasures default button. This way I can constantly match my target's speed when I'm trailing them and shooting. I use the keyboard Home and End keys for instant full throttle/ full stop.
