Have you tried getting an imperial friend to generate the ship then trade it back to you after?
Give that a shot, you never know.

I think some people posted that you can't redeed quest ships right now.

Very odd. Everyone should be able to pilot it. After all, everyone in tier 4 has certification for the ARC-170, Jedi Starfighter and Grevious' Fighter.
You are in tier 4, correct?

triple alliance ace. looks like im going be getting a neutral pilot badge too...
can anyone tell me if a freelance pilot that is in the imperial ground forces is able to take the quest?

Now i remember seeing somewhere where it was stated that all factions could fly the jedi starfighter, but its impossible for anyone but imps.
After getting the disk to start the quest, i gave it to a friend and had him attempt the mission; failed it the first time since it appears to be slightly bugged.
I then spent 2 and a half hours in line to get another disk, and we tried it agian. this time it worked, and he gave me the deed..... BUT
you cant generate the ship unless you are the one that completes the quest, and rebels cant even start the quest.
so if i want to fly this ship, i wil have to retire from the alliance, grind out 5k imp fp, climb all the way up the imp pilot tree, generate it, retire, and do rebel agian.
so now hes flying around in my ship, and im left sitting here feeling like Han handing the keys over for the Falcon.

The reward is quest based and the only reason everyone is cert'ed for it is to ensure pilots who change factions can use their quest reward. So there you have it, if you want the jedi starfighter then you need to align imperial to obtain it then you can change or switch factions.
