The starships we are adding with the Episode III Rage of the Wookiees expansion will require master pilot status and one must have completed the quest to be able to use it.
now last time they said anything about this they said tier was required to fly the new ships now they say master what the heck is it.
the other article that was out said
The new Episode III ships in the Rage of the Wookiees – Anakin’s Starfighter, Grievous’s Starfighter and the ARC-170 will not be faction specific and the required pilot certification for all the expansion ships will be tier 4.
so conflicting info here
hey correspondent can you get anyone to confirm this.
thanks for the info

I'm not in Beta, but on Live right now the certifications are still listed at Tier 4.
Does anyone know anything about the updated ships, though? The new TIE Interceptor is the highest on my list, and I haven't heard a peep about it.

The situation is a fairly complex one and I'll be able to bring you up to speed on all the details as soon as the NDA is lifted, which should be pretty soon.
By the way, this forum doesn't really have a correspondent assigned to it, so if you're looking for JTL-related responses from one of us, it's generally a better idea to bring it to the pilot or shipwright forum as appropriate.

ah ok but you do such a good job.
i bet ya 2 credits that you can fly them at teir 4 but to get the mission you have to be master. If thats the case what the heck. tell me the point of that to have teir4 ships you cant even get. lol

If that is the case, then it could be a great benefit to those who intend to master again.
And the NDA has to be lifted pretty soon, right? I mean, this stuff hits live tomorrow.

really most nda's are lifted within a week of release from my experience, and the its suppose to be out tommorow.
Lets see how well they handle it this time. Since the release of the cu went so smoothly. j/k or maybe not. lol

Wasn't really meant to be ominous (though that's not to say there won't be any issues), just that the explanation isn't that simple.

I'm wondering, what's the required certification to fly the mining ship?

Strakes are used to modify the Z-95 and X-Wing, winglets are for modifying the TIE Fighter and TIE Advanced. I believe strakes are also used to modify the Scyk, but not sure. End result is, the modifications make those ships into "heavy" versions.
