Okay I give up...I'm missing something here. doing Jabba's first mission and I keep blowing up the big guy. Can you target sub-Systems?

can select the systems by hitting your bracket buttons to cycle. for those disable missions, select the reactor or engines

I keymapped the commands to my joystick.

Hit Ctrl+O to open option menu then goto Misc or Chat, one of the two I think, and you'll see a button called Keymap at the bottom left or so, kinda centered.

That is a list of commands and if you click Rebind you can custom set keys for the commands... I use keys 11 and 12 on my joystick, but it also works for my keyboard also.

Just thought I'd throw this out there...

Also be mindful that your lock remains during the fight. I find that often times my Engine or Reactor lock will simple "reset" itself and I will go back to targeting the ship chassis. This usually seems to happen after being attacked but not sure.
