Thread: Just ran first mission what's the point?

I was totally frustrated after my first mission because the radar seems useless, particularly in battle and my weapons seemed to be doing no damage. The target lock key always pointed me out in some weird direction, no idea what it's supposed to do.

Blah!

Its probably the Targetting setup on your system...ignore what the manual gives as default Keys as these are all wrong.

I started playing JtL today, luckily I was in the Beta, so knew what the proper targetting keys were.

Check under your options <keyboard> and then <keymap>, This gives what the keys are set up as. The most important one for targetting is 'Target Nearest Enemy'. This in the manual is shown as 'Z' I think, but its actually <TAB>. Another is Target Under Reticule. This is 'X' is if remember rightly.

The Radar is actually more orless the 'Star Wars' standard radar- going all the way back to X-Wingin the early nineties (hehe, and I played it when it first came out - gives you an idea on how old I am)

Check what your keys are acutally set up as rather than what the Holo / Manual tells you. The keys have been changed so many times it insane..

Once you've got the targetting sorted out the first few missions are fairly simple. I managed to do the first four within an hour or so(admittely it wasn the first time I had done them, done them once before in the Beta)
