I'm confused, but thats easy to do.

Any guides on all the ship parts that drop and what to do with em?

I know a shipwright can build me a ship with all kinds of options but I havent seen a guide on that or what stats to look for in loot and crafted items.

Thanks in advance.

step 1: find a ship wright tomake you ablueprint a ship that you can use

step 2: take the blueprint to a chassis dealer and buy the chassis from him; they are usually inside starports

step 3: load all the looted items onto the chassis from a starship terminal

to decide which parts are best, examine them. it give stats for thier various properties. you would need a reactor, engine, capacitor, blasters (or missles), boosters, and a droid interface if you want one.

Taylor: i dont seem to have much luck with pants do i?
Austin: no, but for the sake of the rest of us, don't give up
Taylor: ROFLMAO!

When you manage your ship, it will show you the stats on the installed item to the right, and the stats on the selected item on the left. This is the best way I found to really compare the parts and how they work together (total weight, energy use, etc...). You will also hopefully avoid forgetting to install an important part before you get to your mission wayoint

You're in luck, as Im at work at bored, Ill go through it all for you, but it might be a bit of a read as there is alot to go through

Well, the shipwright only builds the chassis (or frame) of the ship, its really down to you to outfit it the necessary components (altough some shipwrights might be selling fully equipped ships)

Alot of the time, Looted components have the best stats (apart from Blasters).

Now each components will have about 6 stats - the first one to look is the cert Level. If you arent certed for a piece of equipment, you cant fit it in your ship.

Second is Total Mass - this is how much mass will be taken up in your ship. Each ship chassis has a certain mass limit that cannot be exceeded.

Third is Energy Requirement. The reactor you fit to your ship will generate a certain amount of energy...each component you fit onto your ship will drain a certain amount of energy (apart from armor & the reactor it self of course). If your equipment is using more enrgy than the reactor is generating, some of it won't work. Usually the system prioritizes energy - if it doesnt have enough, it will disable Missiles, if it still doesnt have enough after thatit will disable the following equipment in sequenceuntil it does:Boosters,Chaff Launchers, weapons,Shields. (its more or less this sequencebut I could be wrong)

Fourth is Reverse Engineering Level - Ill go into this later on

These4 stats are shown on all equipment you loot. The only equipment that doesnt have an energy requirement isArmor and the Reactor itself.

Couple of other less important stats shown on equipment

Hitpoints: the amount of damage the equipment the item can take before being disabled.

Armor: If I remember, damage is first subtracted from the armor, once this is gone, damage gets subtracted from the Hitpoints until the item is disabled

These 2 are really only important for Armor, although they are useful for all equipment, they arent essential (once your equipment starts taking major damage, your in trouble anyway!)

Engine Stats: - Top Speed is probably the most improtant stat to look at - also the roll, pitch, yaw stats are important, the higher they are, the faster your ship will climb, turn & roll. Acceleration is good but not essential. Boosters have all the same stats apart from the Roll/Yaw/Climb.

Reactor stats: Energy output - the amount of energy the reactor generates to power your craft, the higher the better.

Capacitor Stats: The capacitor is used to power your Guns - there are two important stats here. One is total Energy Capacity which how much energy the capacitor stores - this is represented on your HUD by the Red bar which decreases as you fire your guns. The second imnportant stat is recharge rate, which affects how long it takes the capacitor to fill up the Red Bar on the HUD - the higher the recharge rate - the better.

Shields: Shield Hitpoints fairly easy to understand, you have a rear and front sheild, these stats show how much damage the shield can take before your craft starts taking damage. Recharge Rate is how fast it takes the shield to recharge.

All the other equipment stats are either fairly basic - eg chaff launcher, or obvious eg blasters.

The main problem you have is Mass/Energy requirements, basically these two stats control what you can put on your ship (along with the Equipment Certs). Its best to keep all looted equipment until you are sure its no good. The reason being is Reverse Engineering

Each looted piece of equipment has another stat - this is The Reverse Engineering Level

The RE level basically is the amount of the equipment of the same type and RE level that is needed to make a Reverse Engineered Components.

Don't understand? Don't blame you, its a completely new thing in JtL for crafters as well, so is difficult to grasp.

Lets say you have 2 Engines of RE Level 2. Now one of em is is really great - high top speed and great stats for manveuring however its has a very High Mass & a high energy requirement. The other engine has AWFUL stats for Top speed and manveuring, but is really Light (low mass stats) and has a very low energy requirement. What a Ship Wright can do is combine these 2 engines together. using a special tool, the Shipwright basically takes the best stats from each engines, adds a small bonus and combines them together in one Engine! You lose both engines, but in there place you get an Uber engine.

For a level 3 RE, you need 3 components of the same type & RE level, 4for level 4 and so on. So toRE a RE level 8 component, you'll need 8 comps of the same type & RE level.

The RElevel of components is usually dependant of the Equipment cert of the component (eg cert 2 stuff usually is Lvl 2 RE).

Hope this helps

Good Luck and Meet you out there!
