Thread: Is there a Single, Dual, Full fire option with lasers and missles? (Like in XvsT)

How can I swith my lasers to shoot a single laser at a time, thus having a faster rate of fire but less bolts?
This used to be an option in the Xwing and Tie Fighter series and was very useful. I believe it was the X key that did it by default.
For example (when piloting an X-Wing):
The tactic was to shoot single lasers at a higher rate of fire on the fast moving targets and use full (all lasers) when you know you have a good shot. Heck, if you were to hit a standard Tie with all 4 lasers bolts at once, that was an instant blow up for that ship since they didnt have shields. Also note that the rate of fire on the single shot was one forth of the full shot, thus making it shoot shoot 4 bolts at the same rate with either setting. It was all about tactics though, which this seems to be lacking if this not an option.
Note, all ships had this feature in the classic games, including being able to shoot dual or single missles on a target.
Other than that, the game rocks now. Good going DEVs (and you dont hear me say that often).

Thats a serious bummer. I hope they add this feature in the near future as the game seems to be geared towards use of ease instead of tactics.

If you go to the Control options screen - press configure keyboard (button in the lower left) and then go to the ship tab, there is an option to fire all weapons at once (I think about half way down the list). Nothing is bound to it at the start, so you will have to hit the bind button and then assign a key to it - I use spacebar, but that is my personal preference. Note: there was a problem in beta with it firing the missles too, I think this was fixed but I have not personally tested it yet.
There is no way to fire individual bolts from the X-wing tipsin alternating sequence like a lotof SW flight sims though.
