Thats not what we requested my defensive friend. I won't crtique (<-- like right here)misspelling because I do it too, nor will I bad grammer. However, a complete lack of literary format that renders the text into a disorganized jumble.. that I will.

you cant attack imps or rebel NPC's even if your grouped with rebel pilots .
hmm that seems odd seeing as how the info i have said IMPs pretty much declaired war on the freelance pilots , "ok so they get twice as many targets as i get , they can attack what i can attack + imp NPC's "
Hey, I'll be constructive. I'm privateer too. I hunt TIEs all the time, and have had to take out a rebel or two once in a while.
Since they are non-aggro typically, you can't tab-target them. You can, however, use x or whatever you have mapped to target under reticle.
Once you land a hit, the factional NPC and any of his immediate lance-mates become aggro, and you can tab target as usual.
At x2xx privateer, tier 3 TIEs are my good source of xp.

Okay, I don't understand the original post either. Not enough time to spot check words and sentences? Happens while I type, at least. I usually only have to go back and fix typos, not like, un-mangle things to coerce it into English (American or otherwise).. Anyway, enough negative encouragement for writing better posts. ^_~
"Why go privateer?"
It is, I feel, somewhat beneficial to be able to fly largely unmolested by Imperial patrols (or Rebel patrols, as the case may be) through whatever sector I'm in, rather than shot on sight.
"Hey, even I get boarded, sometimes." -Han Solo
And it's not like it excludes you from flying for either side- I have declared in space to a factional space station before joining a wing of X- or Y-wings. But that's beside the point- which is of course, to fly as a Privateer.
"Privateer" itself implies a certain amount of discretion and freedom on your activities. I mean this beyond the question of, "what to go shoot down," because there is more to do than just patrol and clear a section of space of other ships, and replace them with ship-debris. More even than the duty missions, which represent assignments from superiors/employers with their interests explicitly in mind. If I were formally a Rebel pilot, cruising along on my way to Dantooine, and I saw a wing of TIEs, well you're just kind of expected to do your part for the rebellion- if you flew past you'd be in dereliction of duty (without some other excuse). As a Privateer, well, I'm only ever flying for myself. My employer might like it if I engaged the competition, but if I choose to fly on by, I'm only responsible to myself for my actions. Same goes for if I want to clear the spacelanes of anything that gets in my sights (^_~). Not like a Pira- err, Privateer has never engaged vessels of the authorities before.
Of course, being a Privateer means flying more 'commercial' ships. The Empire wouldn't let us fly so freely if we had somehow acquired one of their TIE vessels, and though the Letter-Wing series are fairly commonly available, let's face it, they are clearly associated with attack craft of the rebellion and local militias, also which the Empire doesn't favor too well. But hey, the small YT-1300 transport is just a freighter, right? Doesn't attract much attention, does it?=} ...Even my current Dunelizard looks to have more of a rear compartment for cargo than the Rebel fighters, and I use it for hauling bulk goods to distant systems too! No, really!
...okay I may add to these thoughts later.

It's a win/win situation really. That's why. Privateers get some cool looking ships, and they STILL have the ability to declare their faction and go fight in space PvP as a rebel or imperial.
