Ok, can you buy the mining laser and cargo hold off of someone to do space mining, or do you need to complete the quests? I know the faq mentions a kit, but it doesn't mention anything about being able to buy the items from others. Just wondering, cause my crafting toon has a cl of 1
being a droid eng, artisan and shipwright.
thanks

I believe that all the Cargo Holds, Tractor Beams, and Mining Lasers a Shipwright can make require asteroid resources
So I guess you have to do the quest to get the quest reward equipment (space only), buy the equipment form another shipwright, or buy the astroid resources to make the equipment.

Thank you, I will try buying the equipment first and see what happens. I don't want to change my entire template so I can space mine, but on the other hand, I need to space mine.
Thanks,

I bought two mark 3 mining lasers, a large cargo hold, and started mining.

And you do not need ground combat skills to do this quest.

is there any way to target the chunks of asteroid? when i do /target asteroid chunk, it targets the nearest asteroid bandit instead... if i put /target "asteroid chunk", it targets nothing..

sorry, was unclear as to what i meant. thanks for reply but i meant a way of targetting the nearest without have to turn to face it... found that the ; key targets closest friendly which is great. does anyone happen to know the command to do what this key does?
