hm, you should think about what you would like to do if you are not going for BH.

I did Master Artisan, Master Musician, Master Medicdabbled inDE, CH, Pistoleer, Ranger, Doctor. Iliked most of them, but always got to a point where i did not like to go on and my only motivation was that i have another profession to try out. I already quit the game once because i started hating it. But i come back because i like the world and the interaction withsome friends.I got 3 4 4 4 today and atm i realy like BH. i think i will do it till Master and stay MBH when i got it. I have no idea what else i should do - lol - yes i think TKA, Swordsman, Commando could be fun too, but i am so tiered of grinding that i dont think i will start again, so if the nerf bh or i do not like it anymore i think i will be go forever.

BH is not as bad as it seams, when you look at the forums. We have some bugs, with the droid speed (the need longer while the should need less time) and they cant track Jedis - but maybe the fix is out till you got to investigation 3 or want to hunt jedis. you should give it a try unless you know another profession you would realy like to try out.

Hi, since i started this game about 3 weeks ago i have wanted to become a bounty hunter and just need a few more apprentice xp to master scout

but from reading these boards i get the impression that it isnt actually a very good proffesion because of all the problems with it.

im just wondering do you think it will be worth it when they fix the bugs?

also could someone just list the things they are fixing and adding in please, because i dont really understand them in the other posts. (just simply what the fixes and addditions are and will do)

BH was the first profession I ever worked towards. BH is the only profession I really enjoy playing. I've done some hologrinding, and while BE and Pikeman were fun...they were nothing like it was to be a BH.

Why do I like it so much? Is it because of the sheer combat prowess of a MBH? No. Is it because BH's pwn everybody else in combat? No. Its because this is the profession I like to play. Simple. In everquest it was a ranger. In DragonRealms it was a ranger. Here....its a Bounty Hunter.

Only you can decide for yourself if you are going to like what being a Bounty Hunter means. Its more about what you enjoy, and what you envision your character to be. Don't be afraid to experiment around either. This game, while frought with flaws, does allow you to jump around in professions alot easier than other games I've played.

Good luck, and let me know if you need any help... my main is on Chilly.

Most of the people on these boards are just pissed off or have had bad experiances with BH. I am a Master BH and I love it. Yes I wish they would change a few things but stuff cannot be perfect. We do very well agains npc's and I win about 90% of my duels and rarely die in pvp. So it is not all bad, you just have to know what you are doing. If you want to do BH I recomend it, it will take some patients to lvl up investigation I actually liked incestigation and didn't mind the bugs. That is my 2cents.

It's fun. I got investigation 4 last week, and took a break from bh missions. I actually think I want to do them again, weird, huh? It's more fun than going to Yavin and getting avian meat, that's what I have been doing the last week. I know it will get better, but it just takes soooo long. I only have so much patience.

BH rocks! I've dabbled in just about every profession, but nothing compares to BH. I just made MBH last night and while carbine felt like a grind, the rest of it was a blast. The special attacks are great, the LLC is the best weapon in the game (in my opinion - especially when spamming lightning single 2), and the whole process of taking down a mark, while many find it tedious, gave me more enjoyment then any other type of mission.

One recommendation - if you kill your first mark and you don't get a thrill out of it - switch to another combat profession or combine it with just the bh pistol or LLC tree - because MBH is all about taking down those marks. It's a unique type of mission that no other profession gets to experience. From the reactions I've seen on these boards, you'll either love it or hate it.

Also - many of the bugs that were griped about earlier have been fixed. Investigation was initially a bear for even those who enjoyed it, but now with fixes and the use of speeders, it's just fun. The only big bug remaining is player jedi bounties, and I hear that fix is coming.

Happy hunting!

One more thing - for you and any other new bounty hunters out there...

If you get to your mark and you can't target him because he's in a wall, just use a nearby creature/NPC or enlist the help of another player to duel - use lighting cone 1 on the creature/NPC/player and you mark will always jump out fighting.

In cases where I have had to get a player to duel me, I usually pay them half the bounty (which for inv 3&4missionsis an 11k tip!)

Don't worry, in 4 more months when you reach master, they'll have started working on the fixes. =)

It really depends what you like to do. BH can be fun, it's just not something that feels fully fleshed out yet. It doesn't stack up to the templates frequently used for PvP. The missions can get very boring and frustrating when bugs come up. BH is basically a solo PvE profession right now. Since many people play MMORPGs to play with their friends, the fact that you MUST solo your missions can be very frustrating at times. Still, when you are able to join your friends for hunts, the skills you've picked up will be useful. It's not quite worth the skill points yet IMO, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. Just remember to be able to take a break when the missions start getting to you and have something to do while waiting for shuttles and droid updates.

In a nutshell, our profession does not work.

-many of our specials cost too much / are ineffective

-for costing 217 skill points to master, the most of any profession, we suck

-we can hunt jedi, but our missions give out faulty names 9/10 times and droids are broken, so its a lot harder.

-we have no defensive mods, so in PvP we are almost owned 90% of the time by other players.

-we have 3 main weapon types: carbines, pistols and the LLC. since most armor has electric layering, the LLC is useless in PvP 90% of the time, but very nice in PvE combat. Carbines HAM costs are extremely high, making them next to useless, except for applying knockdown, then there are pistols, being a decent line. Still subpar however, due to underdeveloped skills.

-investigation droids are bugged, they track slower as you increase level.

Buy hey, you know what? I love this profession and I dont know why.

If you want to do jedi missions or pvp the best Bounty Hunter template is Investigation 3 and Master Rifleman unfortunately.

I was MBH, it sux. very weak. Im now master carbineer/BH 3400. It makes a huge difference. I never used the worthless LLC anyways, never saw what was so great about it. The scatter is nerfed all to hell and does crap for dmg. The carbine is all they have

Carbines more dmg than I thought. I was on Dant today, saw a huurton, lvl 18. It used to be hard for me to kill those. Guess what? Three shots, spray, fkd, and an auto attack and he's dead. If I get some carbineer skills, I'd be amazed what I can solo.
