Exactly. Your limited by the maximum mass available for your ship and the mass of each component you put in it. Here is the list of components most ships can be equiped with:
Reactor
Engine
Capacitor
Shields
Front Armor
Rear armor
Droid Interface
Weapon (Some ships have multiple Weapon slots, for example the Kimogila Heavy Hutt Fighter has 3.)
Ordnance
Countermeassures
Droid/Flight Computer

Mass max gets higher as you go. Tie/in is a slightly darker color if i remember right. Really besides the mass, there is no real difference. Its all about what you put into them and how much you can put in.

So I couldnt like max out weapons/armor/shields/engines, but I'd be able to make it relatively fast and manuevarable, just without heavy shields or armor?
Most likely, no you won't be able to max everything out. In fact, you probably won't be able to max anything out in the Z95.
The top mass on the Z95 is around 10k, I believe. Compare this to the 500k of the Nova or 250k(I think?) of the B-wing, and you'll get an idea how much weaker it is. I can't get exact numbers right now, but it won't be a top of the line fighter. Sorry.

I'm planning on making my Z-95 a pure dogfighter. So it would have slightly upgraded shields and armor, a pretty nice engine, little better weapons etc..
I'll probably have another ship for capital ship assaults and stuff
Do you think I could make a good Z-95 dogfighter?

How much mass (about) do the X Wing, A Wing, and Y Wings have?

Found Thunderhearts post.....
"Ok. So I've been running around the office trying to get a status on the helmet and here is the newsflash.
There is an "Elite Rebel Helmet" that is a quest reward for Master. I know everyone wants to see the same helmet that the Rebels wore during the assault on the Deathstar, so I checked into it to see what we can do.
The helmet we all know and love was made, but it will only fit humans and zabs. Because of that, it wasn't added as a quest reward like the other helmets.
What I was able to accomplish though, is that we *are* going to add the helmet for Humans and Zabs, but it will be added to the loot revamp which will happen in waves shortly after the launch of JTL.
<- I thought I'd add Thunderhearts trademark "cool face" my self

You can redeed ships, which if you would liketo sell or hold on to for later uses is very neat

I would have to log into beta and check. Pretty sure the A-wing was 40k though. Y-wing is over 100k, I believe (but it handles like a slug).

It would be tough. Because Z-95's are starter ships they have very little mass. So you wouldn't be able to put decent weapons in it. I would go with the A-wing or X-wing if I was you. Even the B-wing. The B-wing probably has a ton of mass.

Hello, My questions deal specificly with the Y wing. I know its not on par with some of the more advanced ships but its always been my favorite shiip from the movies. This is the ship I've most looked forward to out of all of the rebel fighters. Hereare myquestions.
1. Being a older ship is it possible to upgrade it so that it is on par with some of the more advanced Imperial ships? Assuming I use good components.
You can upgrade it, yes. I think it might even have more mass than the X-wing. Don't expect to do really fancy maneuvers in it though.
2. What role does the back seater in the Y wing play. I assume its a tailgunner role but exactly what weapons can that player control? Can they control additional sytems besides weapons?
Only the turret.
3. It states in the write up on the ship section that this is a duel role fighter. What exactly does this mean in terms of JTL.? So far I've seen only ship to ship combat.
There mainly is ship to ship combat in JTL. Not a huge amount of big capital ships to attack.
4. Anything else noteworthy about the Y wing that would be interesting to know?
Thanks alot,
Scubato
