the jedi population is out of FREAKIN control. it's all because of the nades. i'm not saying put a hard cap on jedi or anything. but it's not fair to the people who holo grinded or groun FS in the legit way. SOE, please fix the nades. there's already a lot of damage done, but it can still be fixed

OMGOMGOMG people are wise to the FS conversion rates and have devised a plan make the grind easier. /fear. dont hate cause they have it easier than you did. You went first, you're a pioneer of sorts. I know how ya feel, I hologrinded my arse off, only got 5 unlocks, and did the last branch the long way. be proud, things will never change.

hmmm i've never heard anyone unlock from grinding 2 afk professions like musician and dancer. it's mostly more than 25 professions dude. so think before you post

What the heck are you talking about??? Early on a lot of people were unlocking at a pretty low ratio. One of my guildmates unlocked at profession 11 last January. It was as time went on the ratio rose to the point where you nearly had to do every proff to unlock.

I remember reading somewhere (at least I think I do) That the holo system also started with 4 holos and 1 silent, but eventually was moved up to 4 holos and 3-4 silents because too many people were unlocking. I think the devs posted this smoetime around pub 10, but I really don't recall. Does anyone else remember that or am I crazy?

you keep changing the subject. grenades should give grenaded xp, just like other weapons give xp of their own type. what do you have to say about that?

The fact of the matter is that grenades DO NOT give grenade xp. This means that the devs do not think it is a problem that it gives combat xp. It would be very easy to change it to give grenade xp. And perhaps they will some time in the future. But until then there is nothing wrong with using grenades to grind FS skills. In fact, anyone who doesn't do thisare cheating themselves. Saying that people should not use grenades is like saying that you should not use your profession's area attacks because it makes you kill too fast.

You can try to push for a change by making posts or petitions and what not. But as long as it is completely legitimate to use grenades to get combat xp, stop whining that people are using it.

In my opinion, the population growth of jedi is not as bad as people think it is. If you factor in two months where essentially there were no new jedi (between pub 9 and 10), the resulting boom made sense. And many people don't really realize how many jedi there were in the game before publish 9 simply because the jedi pre-pub 9 looked like everyone else, a clone in composite armor. After pub 10 there was an initial boom in the population, but from what I've seen its slowed down now. A lot of people are really turned off by the FS grind, its far more repetitive than the hologrind ever was. I don't think that the population growth rate of jedi has increased so much as the visibility of jedi has skyrocketed. Sure there are a lot more jedi in the game now than there was in May 2004, but in May 2004 there was a lot more jedi in the game than there was in January 2004. In the end, I think that grenades just made the grind more tolerable for some. Not for me though, I've never touched one in SWG.

WTH are you talking about? when did i say it wasn't legit? you need to start paying attention my friend. and all of you that are "trying" to flame, are prolly one of those nade grinders. so you shouldn't be on the jedi forum anyways. go spam some more nades

Just wondering if this guys a jedi himself? Thats the dumbest thing you've said this whole thread. You make yourself look like more and more of an idiot every post. So the 4000 people who are currently jedi because they used grenades to grind out their force boxes shouldn't be allowed to be jedi or to post on their own forums? Wow, I dont even know what to say, your stupidity baffles me.

I agree...the jedi class is full of people that don't know a thing about SWG other than the fact that grenades give combat exp. Look at the forums now, they all want their crystals free because they haven't the foggiest notion to go out and hunt them themselves like every other jedi before them.

The oldest jedi unlocked with 5-8 proffs and afk macroed up to 5 jedi at a time, think about that, turning 5 accounts into jedi with afking alone mostly. The holo grind was harder than the current system for most, but the early holo unlockers have been haunting us ever since. So yes the current system is much faster than the holo unlockers and easier and about 6 million times cheaper, BUT many of the oldest jedi had it easier than any of us can imagine and managed, Iam not kidding, to unlock up to 5 or 6 accounts......... These are the many times ebayed accounts and such that haunt us to this day. The new system is a vast improvement over the old system, and I thank the devs, they have managed to continually improve this game from the baby game it was not long ago, to the super power it will soon be. Wait till gcw and combat upgrades done and maybe a dungeon upgrade, then look out. I will be in rpg nirvana. Long live the Empire!

Oh and for the jedi who are not ready to be jedi, they are in for a big surprise and we will hear them crying like noobs for a long time to come . And I dont mind at all. I just want to know where these noob jedi hunt. *drool*
