Jedi's are powerful enough on ground i think it seems a bitunfair if this happened.

Really? Seems like just for continuity sake, you ought to give Jedi some sort of defense bonus when piloting a ship... maybe even just when onboard a ship (YT1300).

I think the movies made it pretty clear that Jedi Pilots were much harder to hit than non-Jedi. Also, smugglers seemed to be able to sneak into battle without people noticing, so they got a surprise attack.

Its a Twitch Game, only your ability to point your ship and shoot at hte target and push down at the right time matters. If you want to use a movie argument whos butt got kicked who was a jedi?

Jango Fett kicked Obi-Wans arse because he was a better pilot (twitch gamer) than Obi-wan who was a crappy pilot (bad twitch gamer because all he could do was kick ass outside of his ship similiar to RPG style gamers)

I think Jedi should get an advantage in Situtational Awareness(SA) to do this, give them the option to use the standard radar screen im sure we'll have but able to switch to a special Jedi "sensory" thing that works like radar, but provides a larger area of detection...and/or add arrows that appear and swing around the extremes of the screen for all enemy units after they enterright outsidetheirfiring range.

So even though you cant see them, yousense their proximty to be threatening and roughly where they are relative to you. It gives you a heads up and the ability to break away right before they can get a shot off at you.

I figure once you can see farther than others and/or get a "heads up" on attacks from the enemy, thats all teh advantage you need...you can take care of the rest from there. If you dont have the coordination to put "guns to ass" after that...then basically should be a Jedi who takes space buses where ever you go.

Jedi Starfighter will be in the gamebut Jedi will have no abilities just that only of their special ship.

the Starfighter is classified as an NPC ship until we get further info fromthe devs

I read this on stratics.

Maybe im force sensitive, i had forsight to see Jedi would be whining around having special abilities in space.

Remember Jedi, in space no one can hear you scream and scream you shall try when we have our revenge for your tyranny on the ground.

- I support NO DECAY.It should be run like EQ . No 20k price cap on the bazar and everyone can craft. Its has worked for 7 years on everquest and there is no decay plenty of money and no crazy prices.

Decay is only good for crafteres and bad for everyone else.

If we look at the highest canon, there is only one really good Jedi pilot, and that is Anakin, or so we are told. His performances were pretty spectacular, but he still took awhile to catch up to just a plain old Bounty Hunter (Zam Wessel). The first time we see him pilot was just damn luck, he had no clue what he was doing in Episode 1. He was just playing around with the joystick and the panels and buttons.

Let's not talk about Obi Wan's poor show in his Jedi Starfighter, which in the movie would not have a risk of shooting off it's own nose cone because the guns DO NOT ROTATE and fire straight forward. It would be a very useless design if you could shoot off your own nose cone

The there is Luke, who is an alright pilot in the movies. Vader woulda whopped him in a dogfight, as would probably any skilled TIE pilot or Rebel pilot and most defintley Han Solo. The only time we see Luke, or any Jedi use the force in flight is Luke to hit the exhaust chute. If I remeber correctly Lord Vader, possibly the best pilot ever and not a Jedi did not sense the Millenium Falcon coming or do anything about it.

Next Jedi flying show is in TESB, where Luke says to shoot the tow cable at their legs but even though hehas Jedi skills he manages to get shot by the main armament of a lumbering armoured AT-AT , loosing his gunner in the process. Then some fat balding pilot called Wedge Antilles is the one who actually pulls off the move, a move which is a whole lot more complex than shooting a 2 meter exhaust chute while not even under intense direct fire. Then Luke gets shot down by another blast from the main armament of an AT-AT and crash lands. I would have to say that the Imperial Pilots have a better twitch skill than Lukeby that performance.

Then again in ROTJ, we do not see any Jedi's but probably a more difficult trick than the one pulled off in ANH constituted by flying through a system of tunnels at high speeds, tunnels which they never had travelled before. In ANH the Rebels had hope that they would have destroyed the Death Star even without a Jedi, but the runs on the trench where cut short by lossess for the most part. Most didn't make the shot because they weren't in the correct position to.

So no special Jedi skills, because the movies show us they have none and you cannot argue with the movies.

Hey if you want a Jedi with that stuff the get the Jedi Starfighter Game. As for SWG and JTL, deal with it.

So many stupid people are still alive because it is illegal to kill them.
Anyone who says, "Trust Me" can not be trusted.
It is not what you are killing but what you are allowing to live.

There should be an edit option on this forum, the parts of my post that were omitted follow.

That said, the only issue I have with Jedi in SWG at this point is how damnably overt they are. I see them, lightsaber in hand, waiting for shuttles in major Imperial controlled cities for goodness sake! There should be something in place to keep Jedi as covert as possible...

Some are saying that Obi-Wan did not use the Force while in his fight (If you want to call it that) with Jango, I would argue that Obi-Wan expressed that he hated flying, it can be surmised then that his piloting skill would be less than ideal as something you hate to do you would normally not be predisposed to practice or be exceptionaly skilled at, yet he flew threw an asteroid field at high speed, dodged many high yield missile and mine detonations, and fooled his enemy into thinking he was destoryed? Basicaly he outflew Jango, even though Jango's ship was arguably far more powerful and Jango's piloting skill would probably have been considered far superior.

I also submit that while young Anakin in the battle for Naboo was not intentionaly using the Force during that battle it should be easily appearant that he was indeed using the Force nevertheless. A child outflew a battle hardened droid space force and by pureluck ("In my experience there is no such thing as luck." -Obi-Wan) single handedly destroyed the master control ship.

Again, I have no realy idea how these "feats" would best be represented in the game, but those arguing that the Force was not used by Jedi pilots are simply being close minded.

First off jedi have alrdy ruined the ground dont let them ruin space. Also the idea of the jedi starfighters i dont like that either. The time period right now isnt Ep1 and Ep2 this is 4,5 and 6.

You are absolutely right. Not all Jedi could fly well and were great pilots. This is and should be twitch based.. No advantage should be given based on char type or profession.

Leave being a great pilot to the person behind the keyboard, not the toon infront of him.

Since jedi are supposed to have great reflexes and able to see things before they happen, perhaps there should be a system in place that gives them a sort of "Jedi Sense." By putting a half a second delay or a full second delay on firing in the start of a fight (lasers need to charge or something), a jedi starpilot could get a warning of an incoming attack. With this a jedi could potentially save themsleves from a quick flame out by a volley of laserfire via an ambush or surprise attack. It may give a skilled Jedi pilot the moment they'd need to evade the attack or they could get caught unaware anyway. Having a system like this could spare a jedi from a quick flame out but wouldnt neccessarily be an advantage over a prolonged dogfight.
Other than that I dont know if Jedi should have anything else as Obiwan didnt really seem to have any additional powers in his encounter with Jango Fett in the asteroid field as seen in Ep II.

shut up

Oh and actually Luke Skywalker is the best rebel pilot, this is stated many times by antilles himself in the extended universe "I'm good but I'm no Luke Skywalker" yadda yadda. Remember starwars isn't JUST the movies, Lucas had to approve any star wars book for content so what the books say goes.

This is all a waste! The only skill you guys have is crying something an average child does half as much as you guys on a daily basis. For a change of pace try this. On Oct 27th goto your local game store and buy JTL, install and patch, log in, get your faction pilot skill, your ship, strap yourself in, blast off into space, ......and then........

SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND PROVE YOURSELF!
