I've been pushing that link to the Devs...I'd even be happy if we got the cool looking Commando Armor...I've been keeping an eye out for a break down on the specifics of the Commando weapons in that game so we can see if any of those ideas could possibly translate into Commando weapons in SWG....

Hmm, I personally prefer the ARC trooper armor (clone trooper armorwith the skirt and neck-piece as seen in the Clone Wars cartoons) or Madalorian armor to the Republic Commando gear, but maybe that's just me.

Not that I wouldn't mind getting it...


By the way, I hear one of the weapons in the game is the concussion rifle... *hint, hint*

Yes that had more of an infantry feel to it. We should be able to weild some serious weapons. Currently we have flame thrower, Heavy Acid Rifle (The known usless weapons of Commando choice), Gernades (That dont knock down but in the trailer a gernade was thrown and knocked down and did damage), Rocket launchers (that are way to expensive and way to hard to make), and the master marksman tree weapons (Pistol, Carbine, Rifle).


I use alot of my Pistol, Carbine, and Rifle when i hunt to stop creatures. Like if friends are grinding xp, i hit action shot on carbine to keep animals still. Or pistols i use surpression shot to stop them as well. But honestly speaking... i am the type of person that I like to see the functionality of my specials in my chosen profession but plainly speaking i can go up to everything and flame the hell out of it! I just try to find the functionality of my profession. In this case there is really no functionality to master marksman. Damage output is Pre-Buff stats and really do no damage needed in real combat so we currently have alot of dead specials and dead weapons. The HAR has to be the biggest dissapointment of them all though. I hope the combat balance fixes everything!

One week after Jump to lightspeed is online zillions of EQers will cry for the nerf of twitch combat and it will g oback to 100% armor hull and *buffed* ship stats basicly causeing SWG doing a total about face and reverting back to the old ways for those poor sad EQers. Someone even asked that if there is formation flying thatthere should be a toggle we can press The toggle is the joystick that you are suppose to use so learn it and it will be your best friend

I'm not the best at catching jokes, but assumming that you aren't joking..........it wouldn't be feasable (spelling?) for the devs to switch from one combat system to another because of the shear size of tech stuff that would hafta go into it, they would hafta re-script EVERYTHING, basically, it all just comes down to the workload.

They probably won't, but he is making a joke at all the people who came here from EQ or UO, etc., where the games such as those, and the ground version of SWG require no SKILL, only the ability to hit a key on the keyboard.


JTL is "twitch" based.I've played Wing Commander (all 8 games), the X-Wing/TIE Fighter/XvT/XWA games.


If you've played Quake, Half-Life, UT - you should be in good shape. Just consider that you have to look above and below, as well as forward/backward.


For those whom will be delving into real 3-D FPS/"Twitch" gaming for the first time with JTL, I would suggest a good flightstick.


For low budget, look for the Gravis Blackhawk Digital. It's not superb, but has a good feel, and good response.


For those looking to spend about $50 US - I highly recommend the Saitek EVO. Fully adjustable, twist handle, superb response - probably the best flightstick in it's class.

I know you are just jesting, but hypothetically speaking, if that did really occur, Turn based combat for space = Mass Exodus of SWG, using E&B as an example(now defunct).

E&B is an example of what NOT to do for MMORPG Space Combat sims- oddly as it sounds.
