I'd like to see some of the other ship types out there, like the jedi-starfighter style (it's not REALLY a jedi starfighter ya know) and others. But the YT-2400 would be a cool start

IMO they should add EVERY ship from the game X-Wing alliance that is reasonable. I dont know why they didn't in the first place, they have the rights to all of those ships and the game is Canon.....

I can see not adding ships like the Tie-Defender as that ship comes after the time period we are in with this game, but they should definately add the Tie-Avenger, the YTs that are on there, the Assault Gunboat, and the neutral ships...

I haven't played the game in a while so i dont remember all of the ships but i know for a fact that there are PLENTY they could add.

EDIT: Plus i think they should un-cripple all ships so they are useful at any level depending on your style and make more ships cross-faction, like the z95, y-wing, neutral ships, etc. If they did that we would see a LOT of variety in space.
