Still not sure if I can drop the merchant tree and keep my vendor . Anyone know for sure 100 %???

Business 3 entitles you to one vendor, a bulky terminal-type vendor though. If you keep business 3, you can get rid of merchant and still retain that one vendor. I don't know whether you will lose the ability to keep it on the map, but I imagine you would lose it. If you decide to take the risk and find out, remove all your stuff from the vendor first, just to prepare for worst-case scenario. And let us know what happens.

How do i get vendors? Are they droids or are they some other item you can buy? I'm in need of the info. thanks

You create vendors in your house if you have merchant skills. If you are not sure check your skill page and look for vendors +1. If you have at least +1 then you can have a vendor. Then just goto your house structure management terminal and there will be an option to create a vendor.

How do you place vendors?

Go to the house menu, and go to "Place Vendor"

You do need Buisness III However...

And hopefully when the Devs fix it, they just do a database check during the restart for people with more vendors than their skill allows and randomly delete any extras.

You have to give the people a chance to empty the vendors first. That would just be mean to delete the vendors with everything on them.

That's a cop out answer. Did you try searching for it? I did, and I did find a thread where this very same question was answered. Very good or not, the search function WORKS. People are just too lazy to search for the answers themselves.

While that may be so, there are 2 sticky threads about vendors in the Merchant board, none in the Artisan board. Like it or not, you'd get moreinfo about vendor related issues in the Merchant board.
