If i understand the orginal post correctly, what is being asked is for the turret to be completely independant of the vessel upon which it is attached.
The result being that manning the turret, no matter what the pilot does, it is as if the ship doesnt exist, your "turreting" completely independant of the ship and not effected by it in any way.
If that is indeed the case, i find this request highly unrealistc.
If alot of people think this, modesty aside, i probaly make an A1 gunner in this game. Months of gunning in vehicles (both air and ground) in Planetside ought to pay off for me bigtime
Seriously, MP ships are like WW2 B17 flying fortress bombers. Get an idea of whats involved in Arial gunnery and i'll bet you'll do alot better as a gunner.

First its not the gunners fault, unless they really really suck. As a pilot you cannot fly a mp ship like a fighter, it just will not work. I have found that if I zoom to 3rd person view, I can 'see' where I am, as well as have a good idea of where the enemy is. In this view I have found that I can keep my gunners within the fireing arc of their target. Use your radar, to keep track of your targets. Don't give up and cry nerf, just try different tatics untill you find something that works.

You would think people would want this game to be more fun. As it stands now a pilot of a Multipassenger ship is forced to fly basically straight in order to be moderatly effective. That right there should tell you something is wrong with how turrets work in Multipassenger ships. I have flown quite a bit in a turret and I am pretty decent at it. The problem is that decent gunners are rare because of screwy turret mechanics. I should be able to throw someone in a turret and that person be able to do a decent job just as if they were flying a fighter for the first time.
The only thing this change would do it make it so everyone could have enjoyment while in a Multipassneger ship, and those of you who are decent now will be something to be feared. These arguement about it not being realistic are ridiculous and not even an issue. The heart of the issue is about making the game more fun then it currently is and half of you seem to have something against it.
