The YT-1300 is going to be way too common, and the Firespray will probably be fairly common also...
I think the Nova and Decimator will be alot more common than the YT. They are both so much nicer internally.

They might be nicer but neither were either in any films or were big cultural icons, there are many Han wannabes, So I think the pros of the YT-1300 might outway the cons...

Unupgraded it actually lacks armor and firepower, so that's not true. The same is true for all ships. Firepower and armor is all depending on what components you mount to it. Since the YT, Nova and Decimator all can take about the same Mass, they are fairly equal. The decimator might prove to be a smaller target though.
No, you can't upgrade the vet ship.

Personally, i don't think that the yt1300 will be any more popular just because it was in the films, i think that people will fly the ship that they think is the best. I would love someone to draw a floorplan of the yt1300 and decimator, as i would like to see what they look like. not that the yt is a big deal as i'm going imp, but no one in my guild is gonna do privateer so i prolly won't get to see one. Sounds like the decimator is nicely laid out and not strangely designed. also, i read somewhere that the decimator had an upper and lower turret, is that true?

Nice pics of the sorosuub. lol, that sucks, it got attacked. was that last picture from the cockpit? It looks way cool, the glass looks like its got some shape. After seeing those yt pics, it doesn't really look that bad, but i think that i still might go for decimator. I love how cool it is with that deathstar looking thing. i would still like a map or pics of the decimator. thx,
