I certainly hope any JTL transport missions will pay more. I'd like to make a living doing freighter missions. I hope the missions are scaleable, meaning the larger your ship, themore experience you have, and the level of contraband(if any) the more you get paid. 600 credit misions pay outs wont do.

Give me cargo or give me Death!

I guess my original question as been answered. "Whats the Star Wars Universe without big ugly bulk freighters?" Its JTL at release. No transport missions, no non-combat content at all. Just a bunch of blood-lust, destructive, stat whores with starships.

Oh happy day the children win out again.

*sigh* Yeah, it does seem that way, doesn't it? Depressing.

I keep coming back to the same questions: the combat features really do look cool, but what's the point? Without some larger context within which the combat stuff happens, what's the point of having combat features?

What's the point of fighting a Galactic Civil War if there's are no other hearts and minds to win? Who are you fighting over if not the people engaged in everyday commerce, including space-based commerce? Why does the combat action matter if there's no backdrop of normal business activity against which to understand the fight?

No matter how nice JtL looks, how long will it be worth playing if"success" can only be measured byracking up the highest kill count?

Isbloody mayhemreally the onlyvision George Lucas had for Star Wars?

Here's hoping that the creative folks at LucasArts and SOE eventuallyare ableto retrofit into JtLthe deeper contentthatit deserves... and thatthe paying customerswho would enjoy those new features haven't already left for some other game more responsive to their requests.

The sad thing about not having non-combatant missions(transport, merhcant, etc) is that all those guys who wanted to be a smuggler or freighter pilot from the beginning have basicly been waiting all this time for a carbon-coby version of other Star Wars star-fighter games. There is no real innovation that i can see in JTL compared to what has been put out in the past.

If there is noting but combat, then JTL is an expansion that is essentially provides us with less of a game than the original GCW.

I say this because it doesnt expand on the game dynamics of GCW, it just slaps on a pretty version of a type of game many of us have already played before. JTL is just a fraction of a game compared to GCW because there isnt the complexities, flexabilty and variations in gaming style compared to the latter(GCW...if i used the term correctly). JTL is a de-evolution in the progression of this game. GCW is an online life/existence of combat, economies, politics, etc...JTL is just a battle in a bottle. Its likea less sophisticated mini-game inside the real game(like playing checkers on a submarine sim to pass the time). JTL doenst seem like a natural extension of GCW, but instead the video-game our GCW charcters play for entertainment.

JTL as a combat only expansion would seem to create combat with no purpose and no real connection to GCW.

If everyone else has a Ferrari, this will be my 1979 Bluebird Schoool bus!! I wanna be the .50cal firing B24 to your 20mm carrying bf109.

Totally agree. Rust buckets all the way! I'm hoping something really big but otherwise terrible is in there for players. I'm also hoping that random encounters won't just be the odd wave of fighters, but supply runs for each side, (all 3) with these dirty slow things escortedby smaller ships. Not only do you get to blowthem up, but you could transporttheir cargo away in yours too for it to be cracked open later.

All in allI see things asLarge flyablebuckets of rust + Smuggling + Space piracy = fun fun fun.

What I would like is the YV-666!

Thats the ship that Dash uses in Shadows of the Empire.

Oh, and for the record. Dash could out shoot Han any day!

Come on Devs...give us a real freighter! Not just"light" freighters. You can even force us to remain under-gunned when it comes to upgrades...well maybe not too under-gunned

Transports make the galaxy go-round! I mean think about it, the Trade Federation almost took over Naboo...with a little help. Trade/Logistics/Transports/Merchant Freighters had and have a huge and critical part in the GCW.

lol, the lack of NPC raids is kinda dull, I miss the Tutorial days when that dumb Thug/Pirate (whatever) would have a dudand blow himself up.. we see none of that no more

I want a frieghter!!!

Plus I had an idea for carg/delivery missions...

Lets say you meet this guy in a cantina that needs xxxx# of crates of Muon Gold to his friend on Tat IN 1 hour. If you deliver them without getting shotup u get like 4-6k. But if you dont within the timelimit the original guy thinks you kept it and hires loads of BH's to track you down. Just a thought.
